FAQ: Q: What does SONDER mean?
“Sonder” is a recently coined word capturing the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own — populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you.
Q: What is SILK + SONDER exactly?
We’re reframing the traditional “start every year” planning experience. SILK + SONDER hand-curates an issue that encompasses planning, journaling, and inspirational content for each individual month. This means that you can start your subscription any time of the year.
Q: Is SILK + SONDER just a planner?
If you ask us, we’re much more than your traditional planner. But it’s truly up to you. If you enjoy planning, our calendar spreads will help you stay focused and productive on your tasks. However, each SILK + SONDER issue features content beyond that. Inspired by “bullet journal” designs, we include journaling prompts as well as lifestyle content.
Q: Is SILK + SONDER the same every month?
No. Each month’s aesthetic is different, but will always include planning frameworks, introspection, and articles aligned with a theme.
Q: What do you mean “Tea Theme” for SILK + SONDER?
Currently, our signature “Tea Line” will include issues whose cover and inside contents will be inspired by a particular flavor of tea. (eg. “English Breakfast” will encompass colors, design elements, and articles influenced by England).

Q: When will my planner ship?
You can expect your SILK + SONDER issue to arrive 2-5 days before the 1st of every month.
Q: How many planners do I get per month?
Just one booklet per subscriber, but you can purchase as many booklets by ordering them as gifts.

Q: What are the physical dimensions of the book?
Each booklet is 7” x 8.5”, freshly printed.
Q: What is inside SILK + SONDER?
Well, it’s mostly a surprise for you every month! Every issue will contain some of the following:
- Monthly, weekly intentions, habit trackers, and calendar spreads
- Prompts to inspire mindfulness
- Articles and content that feature food, design, and travel
- And much more to empower you to live your unique life!
Q: How can I update my personal information?
You can edit your name, address, and credit card information from your dashboard. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any issues.
Q: How long do I have to order for the upcoming month to receive it before the 1st?
In order to receive the upcoming month’s issue before the 1st of the month, you must subscribe before the 16th of the current month. However, if you subscribe after the 16th and before the 26th, you will still receive the upcoming month’s issue, but it may reach you after the 1st of the month.
Q: I ordered past the cutoff date. How do I start my subscription early?
If you placed your order past the cutoff date for the upcoming month (on or after the 26th), we hold your order until the following month to ensure that you have a full month experience. However, if we have extra inventory and you don’t mind receiving your first planner after the 1st, you may request to kickstart your subscription. In order to process this, please submit your request here.
Q: I want to cancel but my order has shipped. What do I do?
Because we print-to-order, you cannot cancel once your order has been shipped. However, if you do decide to cancel (we hope you don’t!), you should be able to manage your subscription from your dashboard. From there, you should see an option to cancel your subscription (with the option to re-continue at any time).
Q: What if I want to cancel my monthly subscription?
We’d hate to see you go but if you do decide that SILK + SONDER isn’t for you (at least, right now), please log into your account, click “Manage Your Subscription”, and select “cancel” before the 15th of the month. Your subscription for the subsequent month onwards will be discontinued.
Q: What if I want to cancel an annual subscription? Do I get a refund?
Since 3-month, 6-month, 12-month gift subscriptions and annual subscriptions are significantly discounted, we do not issue refunds for these options. If you are hesitant about committing to SILK + SONDER, we recommend that you start out on a monthly subscription before upgrading. If you cancel an annual subscription, it will not auto renew after your last issue.
*By purchasing a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month subscription, you agree and acknowledge that your subscription has been prepaid for that term of service and you accept full responsibility of charges.
Q: How do I upgrade from my monthly subscription to my annual one?
We’re still working on making this process more streamlined. For now, our recommendation is that you cancel your monthly subscription after your order is fulfilled and shipped, select “Other” and specify “upgraded to annual” as your reason, and then check out with an annual subscription after the 26th of the month. (This way you won’t receive the same issue twice in the mail!)
Q: What is your return policy?
Sorry, we don’t accept returns because we are print-to-order, but if your item is damaged we’re always happy to help and replace the damaged item.
*Please note that our replacement policy is good for 14 days after the shipment date. If something needs to be replaced, please contact us as soon as possible.A refund will not be given for damaged product.
