As a fun bonus, each month one California Found subscriber’s box contains a golden ticket (it is the Golden State after all!) that entitles the recipient to one FREE box!

Here’s a look at what’s in this month’s California Found box:

Box Insert

The inserts included in California Found are so thoughtful and informative. There’s an individual card for each product giving the item it’s own spotlight. They include a little background about the makers and the company as well as include a product photo and additional related pictures. They also all contain discount codes for future purchases from each company so you can buy more of the same product if you fall in love, or even try something new if the company inspired intrigue. I’ve included a few bullet points from each card below.

Get Naked – Naked Herbal Facial Steam in Calm and Naked Face Mask in Sunshine ($21)

“Get Naked is a handmade small batch company started by teacher Angela JohnsonRogers (AJ). Their mission is to create natural (Naked) products for the conscious consumer. Most of their products are packaged in eco-friendly or recyclable containers and include ingredients that are vegan, locally sourced, fair-trade, or grown by AJ herself. To AJ, being ‘Naked’ is about living as natural as possible; including what we put on our bodies.”

Face masks are one of my favorite things to receive in subscription boxes because they’re pretty versatile for different skin types. They are also a great reminder and tool for a little self-care sesh. I love that this is a duo of a mask and a facial steam (which are also really great for some self-care). They are both made with all-natural, simple ingredients to nourish and tend to skin. The steam is made with calming florals of calendula, camomile and lavender so it not only soothes skin, but also relaxes the mind. The mask is made with turmeric, rhassoul clay and bentonite clay to reduce inflammation and draw out impurities. I like that these can be used together in a facial routine too. Open your pores with the steam and then apply the mask afterward to rejuvenate skin. Can’t wait to try these out!

100 Graces Amber Necklace ($32)

“100 Graces is “Gemstone Jewelry for the Modern Goddess”.

“Inspired by crystal healing, their jewelry combines natural elements, vibrant colors and bohemian glamour to create a look that is not only fashion forward, but also full of healing vibrations. All of their jewelry is handmade in their Los Angeles studio with only natural stones and sustainably sourced materials.”

I appreciate receiving simple and understated jewelry in subscription boxes since everyone’s taste is different. The necklace is also the perfect length, not too long and not too short. It’s a great neutral piece that can be worn with many outfits, day or night. It’s made with amber which is not only pretty with an earthy, natural look but it’s said to help soothe nerves and enhance mental clarity. It’s also supposed to assist with healing and absorb negative energy. All these things are great assets to have with you at all times and what better way to keep them with you, but on a necklace around your neck.

Missive Three (3) Letterpress Valentine’s Day Cards($15)

“Founded by designer Lisa Willis in 2009 as a creative pursuit, Missive has evolved into a stationery and gift brand focused on crafting unique, high quality paper goods that you’ll be delighted to send and receive. In addition to the retail line, Lisa also creates custom designs ranging from wedding suites and birth announcements to luxe personalized stationery and business cards.”

These cards are so perfect for the upcoming holiday and arrived just in time! I really love letterpress stationary too. There’s just something about the colors, texture and simple sweet designs that makes the card feel extra special to give. It’s awesome to receive 3 cards in this month’s box so that all your valentine’s wishes can be covered. It makes sending a little greeting to show someone you’re thinking of them easy peasy.

SoulSpark A Spark of Prosperity Candle ($21.99)

“Based in San Diego, SoulSpark creates candles to inspire your life and spark your soul! Their A Spark of Prosperity candle is made from a blend of organic soy/coconut wax with the clean, fresh scent of green tea.”

This candle smells really nice! It’s infused with green tea essential oil to invoke feelings of happiness and generosity. It smells bright and clean with a hint of fresh air. I like that it’s made with a mix of organic coconut and soy wax for a cleaner burn. A fun twist is that when you burn this to the end you’ll find a healing stone at the bottom to ensure success and prosperity continue coming your way. And there’s also a mantra under the lid to further inspire your thoughts. The whole vibe of this candle is perfect for starting the new year on a new foot of positivity and hope. It would be great to incorporate into a meditation or just daily life to keep your thoughts centered and focused.

Nora’s Food Company Original Grain Free Granola ($9.99)

“Nora’s Food Company creates grain-free, gluten-free Paleo snacks that are a healthier alternative to traditional processed snacks! Nora Ramos uses her chef talent to make gourmet unprocessed snacks without refined ingredients, preservatives or chemicals. Every ingredient is carefully sourced to give you quality snacks that don’t compromise on taste and are 100% non-GMO.”

I love granola and small batch granola is the best. It always has the best flavor so I’m excited to try this one! It’s gluten-free, grain-free and paleo and is made with coconut, almonds, pumpkin seeds, pecans, currants, walnuts and is sweetened with organic coconut sugar. It’s said to be crunchy and slightly sweet. I think it would make the perfect topping for yogurt, but I’d eat it on it’s own too.

California Found Review January 2020 – Final Thoughts

Every month California Found outdoes itself! The selection of artisan goods is just so good. It feels like a thoughtful and generous gift from a friend that arrives on your doorstep just to make you feel loved. And especially this month with hints of Valentine’s Day and items to help you give yourself a much needed self-care break. I’m such a fan of face masks that I’m definitely most interested to try that item, but really the rest all tie for second place because they are equally fun and exciting to receive and try out.
