Chef’s Plate Review September 2016

It’s official, I am in LOVE with this new food subscription service. I received my very first Chef’s Plate last week, and I’m already back with another review. I loved my first delivery so much that I have decided to get a box every week for the next little while. Since I will be reviewing this box on a weekly basis going forward I will try to keep each post as short as possible.

Subscription Options

I kind of explained the subscription options in the last review but here is a quick recap. You can choose meal plans for 2 people or 4. I get the 2 person meal plan. You can then choose how many meals you would like to receive each week, two, three or four. Right now I get two meals per week, but I can definitely see myself getting the four meal delivery in the future. Let’s have a look at the meals I chose this week…..

Avocado and Cauliflower Pita Pizzas

Whole wheat pitas make a delicious base for these easy homemade pizzas. A creamy avocado and yogurt sauce makes a green base for the roasted cauliflower and chickpeas. Drizzled in a tahini dressing, these pizzas are loaded with plant-based flare!

Umm….these pizzas have my name written all over them. I love everything about this recipe. The avocado sauce, the tahini drizzle, the seasoned cauliflower……basically everything. I LOVE that they offer vegetarian options, it makes my little heart happy. I need to tweak the recipes in order to make them vegan, but I am totally ok with that.

Handmade Chive Ravioli

Pasta night is getting kicked up a notch with this handmade chive ravioli. You’ll fill the sheets with ricotta cheese and sweet potato then fold and cut them into perfect squares. Combined with king oyster mushrooms and walnuts in a buttery sauce, there’s nothing quite as good as homemade pasta.

Now, this one isn’t exactly vegan friendly, but the BF is Italian so of course I had to get a homemade pasta dish. I’ve always wanted to make my own ravioli and now I get to give it a try. I also love the combination of mushrooms and purple kale……they seriously come up with the best recipes!

Chef’s Plate Review September – Final Thoughts

When I first discovered Chef’s Plate, I knew I was going to love it, but I didn’t know that I was going to be obsessed with it. My first delivery surpassed my expectations, and I can’t wait to test out my second meal delivery. I have already put in an order for the next two weeks, and am tempted to up my delivery from two meals to four.

For me personally, I am definitely saving money with this subscription service. Not to mention the fact that I am reducing my food waste. It’s so hard to grocery shop for two people. If I was to go to the store and purchase all the ingredients for these meals I would have to buy more than I need and would definitely end up throwing something away. The fact that we only receive the exact amount of ingredients necessary for the recipes is pretty awesome if you ask me. I think I am Chef’s Plate biggest fan!
