Crunchy Mama Box is a curated monthly subscription box that provides natural and eco-friendly self-care to fellow crunchy mamas. They kindly sent us this box for review.

What a wonderful theme for this month! I mean, I always feel like this box is a gift when it shows up, but this one is especially nice. It’s truly packed with goodies!

Here’s a look at what’s in this month’s Crunchy Mama Box:

Box Insert

This is such an informational box insert and has a nice layout like a tiny newspaper. On the front it boldly lists this month’s theme along with an inspiring quote and the company’s mission. It also provides information on Cause Partner that they are donating to this month which happens to be the YWCA of Knoxville & Tennessee Valley for December. The YWCA provides life-saving services to women and their families in times of crisis. Inside the insert is a welcome note, detailed descriptions of each item including icons for those that are vegan or Leaping Bunny certified. The back page includes information on the stone of the month, how to work with it and a meditation and mantra that align with it’s healing powers.

Andes Gifts Handmade Wool Head Warmer

“Our goal is to create long-term dependable employment opportunities for indigenous artisans in Peru and Bolivia, and to connect thoughtful consumers with the people and ancient cultural traditions behind our products. Andes Gifts was founded on the principle of bringing sustainable employment opportunities to artisans living in rural communities throughout Peru and Bolivia. We believe in the principles of the Fair Trade Federation, and preserving the traditional knitting techniques of the Andes Mountains.”

I love this ear warmer! It’s so soft and cozy. It’s lined with fleece so it’s double warm. Plus I absolutely love this color, it’s one of my faves. I’m not sure if there were other color options, but if there were I’m super glad I got this one. I really dislike the cold, but I look forward to wearing this on the blustery days.

Roots Essential Immunity Bath Soak

“Our products contain only 100% Pure and Natural Grade Essential Oils and Rich Plant Base Ingredients, sourced specifically for quality and Earth friendliness! Free from Animal cruelty, Artificial Color, Formaldehyde, Parabens, Petroluem, Synthetic Fragrances, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and GMO.”

This soak sounds so nice and calming bath is really needed right now so this is great. Plus, anything that’s said to help with immunity couldn’t be any perfect for the season either. This soak smells really crisp and refreshing as it’s made with cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, rosemary and lemon. It smells like an herbal-mint almost. I can’t wait to try this one out.

Women of the Cloud Forest Rainforest Earrings

“Women of the Cloud Forest has been working in fair trade since 2001. We have direct, long-term relationships with small family workshops and cooperatives in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Peru. In addition to placing consistent orders with our artisan partners, we provide business training and product development/design and we offer no-interest micro-loans and direct grants for workshop capacity building. This holistic approach to business enables our artisan partners to grow their businesses and access new markets without creating cycles of dependency.”

These earrings are really pretty, though not the style I generally wear. I like the color theme they have with the neutral warm tones, so perhaps I have an outfit they’d complement. If not these would make a really great gift too. Another thing I really like is that these are made with seeds that are sustainably collected from the forests of Costa Rica where the artisans that make them live.

Beyond Good Sea Salt and Nibs Chocolate Bar

“Beyond Good is busting the chocolate industry out the murky mold it’s been trapped in for far too long. A world where too many middlemen walk away with too much of the profit. Where cocoa beans are stripped of their natural taste, and cocoa farmers are treated like photo ops. A world where consumers have been blinded to the beauty of what real chocolate can be. We’re bringing that world to an end. By sourcing heirloom cocoa directly from the farmers who grow it. By pioneering a trade model that has the power to change the industry, forever. We like to think of this as a gateway into the world of heirloom dark chocolate. Roasted and crushed cocoa beans (nibs) and a sprinkle of Indian Ocean sea salt from the northern shores of Madagascar. Sweet. Savory. Textured.”

Yum! This sounds so tasty and I love the backstory on their mission to create fair trade and ethical chocolate. Salty sweet is a combination I can never resist so I’m sure this chocolate is really delicious.

Daily Crunch Snacks Sprouted Mixed Nuts

“We founded Daily Crunch Snacks with a mission that mental health and health & wellness go hand in hand. What you eat is one of the keys how you feel on the inside and out. That’s why we make Daily Crunch Snacks’ products with the highest quality ingredients. We also believe the time it takes to consider and consume our foods is a good mental cue to take ourselves and for our loved ones. Why nuts? Because why not. Mental health should be do much a part of the fabric of our daily lives as the food we eat. We want our produces and recipes to feel like they just came out of your aunt (Diane’s) Kitchen – healthy, wholesome and delicious.”

Ok, this sounds delicious too! I love that there are two tasty treats in this month’s box. This is a sprouted nut mix which I’m really curious to try as I don’t think I’ve ever really had a sprouted nut before. This is a perfect snack option and great for on the go.

Heavens Glow Co Light Lavender Whipped Body Butter

“Heavens Glow began in 2018 (previously The Beauty Of You) and was inspired by my mom who was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple years before. When she got her diagnosis she was really big on eating healthy and taking care of herself with all natural products. My mom always talked to us about using natural deodorants and while researching I came across a group that made natural body butters and other products. After doing a ton of my own research and playing with many different recipes I started making body butters and soaps for my mom. I loved it so much I sold to family and friends and from there I found something that I absolutely love to do. My mission is to use as many natural ingredients in my products as possible. 90% of my products are made with vegan and cruelty free ingredients.”

This smells so lovely! It only says it’s made with an essential oil mix, so I can’t really pinpoint what the exact aroma is. Maybe like a sweet lavender with a hint of mint? Whatever it is, I really like it. It has a really thick texture so it’s great for protecting skin in the winter. Since it feels a little bit heavier on skin this would be nice to wear at night. Plus, since the aroma is calming, that would be a nice treat. I appreciate that this is made with all natural and simple ingredients.

Epically Embroidered Reusable Face Rounds

“Eco friendly alternative to expensive make up remover wipes, cotton face rounds or cotton balls. Gently scrub your face, apply toner, remove your eye makeup and more.”

The perfect eco-friendly make-up removing tool! I have a stash of these, but none that are this cute. I love the pineapple pattern. These feel really soft and like they’d be gentle for the face and eyes.

Monthly Stone: Snowflake Obsidian

“Snowflake Obsidian is a volcanic glass that gets its name from the snowflake shaped inclusions of the mineral Cristobalite. It is known as a Stone of Purity for its ability to remove negative energy from a space or person as well as bringing emotions to the surface to examine harmful patterns. Snowflake Obsidian works directly with the Root and Sacral Chakra to encourage grounding and balance of the mind, body and spirit. It aids in purifying and strengthening the mind opening our eyes to new perspectives and possibilities. It is the perfect stone to keep in your workspace or office. It also looks beautiful wrapped into a necklace to keep close when on the move.”

I always love the monthly stone and mantra included, but I love this month’s especially since it fits with the theme of winter so well. It’s a great stone to use for year end mediations as it helps usher out all the negative energies and purify things for starting anew. Plus, I really appreciate the mantra as it’s the perfect reminder to rest after too much busyness from the holidays.

Beyond Bending Yoga Virtual Yoga Class

“Beyond Bending Yoga is an online yoga studio with a brick and mortar feel because for more than five years we were a downtown studio in a small mountain town. Our online studio builds on the best of those practices and brings it forward into the online space where our yoga classes go beyond bending your body and offer a lifestyle approach to wellness and self-care. The online classes are professionally filmed in a variety of studio and outdoor locations and all feature clear instruction for yogis of any level. Beyond Bending Yoga is more than just a great online library of classes – we bring our local studio mindset to the digital space and offer opportunities for direct contact, communication, and live classes. Included in this month’s box is a selection of three full length classes as a sample of the online studio. Monthly memberships are affordable and come with a free trial for all new members.”

This is a really fun item. I had been a good yoga groove a few months back but really got side tracked so this is the motivation I need to get back to it. This is a great option for the winter (and for the fact we’re still working through social distancing measures) so you can do yoga from the comfort of your own home. I can’t wait to try this!

Bonus Item #1: Heart Garland

Since this item wasn’t on the information card, I’m assuming it’s a fun bonus. This is a really pretty garland made from paper that makes a sweet and simple addition to Christmas decor. Or since it’s hearts, it would also work for Valentines day too!

Bonus Item #2: Ohm Elements – Minerals by the Sea Mineral Diffusing Blend

This is another item that wasn’t on the information card so I’m calling it a bonus gift too! I’ve received items from this brand in this box before and have always enjoyed and found them interesting so I’m excited to try another of their products. These minerals are intended to be added to a diffuser to release the healing minerals into the air

Crunchy Mama Box Review December 2020 – Final Thoughts

Ok, this box was literally packed with amazing goodies this month! I mean, 11 items? That’s SO good. I couldn’t believe everything I kept pulling out while un-boxing. The value of this one way exceed the cost I’m sure. After the thrill I got from opening this box, I was then sad to learn that Crunchy Mama Box will be switching from a monthly subscription to a special occasion box after this box. It’s such a bummer as this is one of my very favorite monthly boxes. I can understand why they’re switching, but I’m still sad about it. Guess they’re going out on a really high note with this box though. Everything is something I like and will be getting use out of. I love that I’ve been introduced to many new brands and have built a healing crystal collection from this box. I will always appreciate the mantas and meditations I have to refer back to. So while I might not be reviewing this box monthly anymore, I look forward to seeing how they grow their brand and what the special occasion boxes have in store!
