September Box Details

The September Crunchy Mama Box theme is “Awakening” and the quote that inspires that theme is: ”The path of awakening is not about becoming who you are. Rather it is about unbecoming who you are not.” – Albert Schweitzer

“Breathing, reflecting, and writing has transformed the way I take on my personal and professional goals. Getting better rest and spending time in nature keeps me on my path. These are some resources to tap into your inner Power. Connecting to your higher self and your inner Goddess can feel ritualistic and euphoric. The Awakening box has been carefully curated with products that will help awaken your senses and nourish your body, mind, and soul.”

What a wonderful theme as we head into a new season. When the seasons change it’s always a great time for reflection. As we go inward to our houses as the weather turns chillier it becomes a great time for taking self reflection inward too. These tools should help with some thoughtful self-discovery!

Here’s a look at what’s in this month’s Crunchy Mama Box:

Box Insert

This is such an informational box insert and has a nice layout like a tiny newspaper. On the front it boldly lists this month’s theme along with an inspiring quote and the company’s mission. It also provides information on Cause Partner that they are donating to this month which happens to be the YWCA of Knoxville & Tennessee Valley for July. The YWCA provides life-saving services to women and their families in times of crisis. Inside the insert is a welcome note, detailed descriptions of each item including icons for those that are vegan or Leaping Bunny certified. The back page includes information on the stone of the month, how to work with it and a meditation and mantra that align with it’s healing powers.

HBC Organics – Coffee Exfoliation Soap

“When Jes began making cold process soaps for her sensitive skin, she never imagined that her soaps would spread all across the United States and into Canada. She started making soaps as a hobby and it quickly turned into a teeny tiny hobby business. She added whipped body butters (a huge fan favorite), facial products, and a baby line & she was officially in businesses. Over the past 9 years, not only her business has grown, but she also got married, welcomed 2 wild little boys, and began attending school to become a traditional naturopathic doctor.”

I love handmade soap and always have a big collection of it! I’m excited to find this lovely bar in this month’s box to add to my stash. It smells like a sweet, light coffee and looks to have exfoliating coffee grounds mixed in. Coffee aroma is the best in the morning so this is great to add to a shower experience to start the day.

Embroidered Elephant Purse

“Use your purse to carry your phone, your keys or just as a beautiful handmade accessory to use wherever however you chose. Handmade by artisans in India.”

This is a cute little purse. I don’t necessarily envision a specific use for it yet, but is a super convenient small sized purse to bring along when you only have a few things to carry. I love the bright colors and sparkly design.

Eat Makhana – Lily Seed Pop Snacks

“I remember when unhealthy snacks kept me down – literally. Corn, rice. sugar, dairy, and gluten filled foods stopped me from losing weight and living my best life. These were foods that were meant to be healthy for me, but weren’t. Popped lily seeds, known as makhana, was a childhood staple that I brought into my adult diet to start eating better. Soon, friends and family were asking for it and we started trying new flavors and selling in stores and cafes. As Eat Makhana grew became busier than ever, but also found myself getting fitter – my personal best yet! It helped me make the most of endurance hiking and HIIT. Lily seeds have been such an important part of my journey and I’m thrilled to have you join me! You will receive one of three flavors.”

I’ve received these snacks a few times from this box and it’s been fun to try out the whole flavor line. This month it was said you’d receive one of three different flavors and I received the Cajun flavor. I actually just got this flavor so it’s not as exciting to get the same one, but it’s a convenient and healthy snack choice for on-the-go so I can’t complain!

Buddha Candle & Matchbox

“Use your buddha candle and matchbook to create your ritual space. Add your stone, your meditation guide and make this your special moment of reflection, self-love and awareness ritual. This empowering moment of reflection guides you toward the beautiful future you are co-creating with the Universe. Or use this pair of items as decorations for your home, however you decide to use it, it has been chosen for you with love and intention.”

This is the perfect pair for a meditation station. I love the self-love energy it provides for reflection and it looks nice too. Almost too pretty to burn! It’s convenient that it came with matches that match it too.

Beaded Notebook & Pen

“After meditating, use your journal to write down your thoughts, dreams, people you love, things you are grateful for. A beautiful way to put down your thoughts, manifest your dreams and express your gratitude for all that you already have. It is empowering to realize how blessed your life is and how you have learned and grown stronger from every obstacle and struggle you faced in your life. This set can also be used to decorate your home or given as a thoughtful gift.”

What a pretty notebook set! I love the green color and jeweled toned beads. Another almost-to-pretty-to-use items! I like the idea of using it as a gratitude journal since the beauty inspires those sentiments. A journal is a great tool to help learn about yourself so this really ties into this month’s theme. This would also make a great gift as mentioned above, but I think I’ll keep this one!

The Yes Bar – Strawberry Almond Coconut Cookie

“My son was born with so many food sensitivities, I was always having to say “no” to the foods he wanted to try. In frustration and out of love, I went to my kitchen and took out all the ingredients that I could say “yes” to, and made a snack that he could eat. He loved them because they looked and tasted like a cookie. I loved them because of their nutritious, premium quality organic ingredients. From that day on the Yes Bar was born.”

Yum! This flavor combo sounds so tasty. I love strawberry flavored anything so I imagine this tastes perfectly sweet and fruity alongside the almonds and coconut. I love the simple and whole food ingredient list on this one, especially since most are organic. That makes it a healthy choice for when you’re crunched for time.

Soul Stones by Mel – Lapis Lazuli Gemstone Bracelet

“Mel started her journey as a jewelry artist with the aim to create fashionable and beautiful earrings that she could wear, despite her allergies to the commonly used materials. What began as a first try to create hypoallergenic earrings, soon led to a keen interest in the art of jewel-making and a passion for natural stones, their meanings and their healing powers. All SoulStones pieces are made out of hypoallergenic Titanium material and natural, precious stones. For centuries, Lapis Lazuli has been known as the stone of the kings. It boosts your confidence and is the perfect companion for making the right decisions in life. This royal stone banishes self-doubt and strengthens your ability to reinvent yourself. May this Soulstone remind you how powerful and very special you are.”

I’m really into simple jewelry these days so this is right up my alley. The center stone is such a pretty shade of dark blue and I love the meaning behind it. I always need a boost in self-confidence and find comfort in this stone’s self-doubt banishing properties. This would be great to wear daily to carry that reminder everywhere.

Stone of the Month: Rose Quartz Meditation Stone + Bag

“Rose Quartz is the stone of love. It is one of the most common forms of quartz. Rose Quartz is like a bubble bath for the soul. It works directly with the Heart Chakra to encourage emotional healing and unconditional love for both oneself and others. Rose Quartz makes gorgeous jewelry, but you can also keep it in your home or workplace to bring peaceful energy into your space.”

Rose quartz is one of my favorite stones! I definitely already have it in my collection of crystals, but believe you can never have too many of a favorite. That way you can put one wherever you might need it. This, like many of the other tools in this month’s box encourage self-love and is very centering to me. As usual, I love the mantra card this comes with and find the message to also be a helpful too.

Crunchy Mama Box Review September 2020 – Final Thoughts

Crunchy Mama Box is always such a fun box to receive and unbox. I never know what to expect and it’s always packed with unique items and useful tools. I love that the items tie to the theme, but are always about encouraging self-care and nurturing for us mamas. It’s not always easy to think about being reflective with little ones around so I appreciate all the guidance this box delivers. It takes some of the effort away from figuring out how to do it too. Convenience is key, so the helpful information along with the useful and helpful items that arrive never disappoint!
