October Box Details ($76 value)

“The October box theme is “Self-Care Rituals” – Practice mindful self-care rituals daily with these sustainable picks of the month.”

Self-care is always a welcome theme for a subscription box so this month’s box is already off to a good start. The items included are fun and unique ways to incorporate self care into your days this fall.

Here’s a look at what’s in this month’s Essentials Crate:

Gratitude Gold Foiled Journal TRES PAPER CO ($17)

“Designed on sustainably sourced paper, this journal comes with 100 guided pages to reflect, record your thoughts and remind yourself what you are grateful for each day.”

I’ve long known gratitude as being an important aspect of my day for health and I’ve tried journaling it before too. Never in a journal this pretty or convenient though so maybe it will help me be more successful! I love the simple, neutral design on the cover with the gold foil accent. The pages inside are intuitive and easy to use. I love having the prompts of listing 3 things your grateful for, thoughts and reflections for the day and intentions for the next day. It also has a “gratitude jar” page every 10 days for reflecting on the previous 10 days. In the beginning of the journal it also has a list of gratitude prompts, positive affirmations and a place to write a letter to yourself as you start the journey. I think this would be the perfect tool for a new years resolution!

Daily Planner Pad TRES PAPER CO ($14)

“Stay productive and mindful using a weekly planner to keep track of your schedule, important to-do’s and appointments. Made with 50 FSC-certified pages.”

I’ve always loved writing to-do lists and tasks on actual paper, even though I’ve since made many of my notes and appointments virtual lists now. This pad is a nice way to bring actual note jotting back in a simple way with straightforward, and nicely designed lists of daily things to accomplish. I love that it includes space for not just to-do’s but also appointments, me-time tasks (self-care is important), reminders, a list, things for the next day and of course water intake. I love the simple design and think this will be a fun and helpful tool to have out on my desk at all times.

Autumn Stroll Candle Warmer Gift Set WILLOW COLLECTIVE ($30)

“Grab your pumpkin flavored drink & cozy up with “Autumn Strolls,” a crisp, fall-scented candle warmer gift set. Comes with four 100% soy wax melts, four tea lights, a stand & dish.”

What a lovely candle warmer set! I don’t have anything like this already so this is a fun item to receive. The melts are made with soy wax and smell really nice. It says it’s an “earthy fir wood mixed with fruity notes” aroma. It smells like a bright, crisp fall day. It says the fragrance is made with essential oils, but does not specify which ones. The orange color of the melts is festive for autumn, but I wouldn’t say is necessary, I’d prefer uncolored melts if I had the choice. Of course the stand itself is really pretty and simply designed with it’s ceramic top for the melts and it’s gold metal stand. Autumn aromas definitely make the season more cozy and warm so I look forward to trying this out and filling my house with comforting scents.

Australian Sandalwood Incense HAPPY SHOPPE ($15)

“Calm your mind & body and relax your senses with this Australian Sandalwood natural incense + pine holder set. Perfect for when you want to feel grounded or meditate.”

Incense is always a nice relaxing aroma to me. This incense smells really nice and grounding, perfect for burning during a gratitude journaling session. I love that this kid comes with a little wooden incense holder as well as a tube of incense itself.

Essentials Crate Review October 2021 – Final Thoughts

What a nice theme for fall as we head into the holidays and end of year wrap up. Self-care is important all year round, but I think just before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is a good time to remind yourself of those tools and refresh your routine to avoid burnout. Everything sent is so comforting and cozy, a very fall feel. I love the gratitude journal as a simple daily practice to incorporate, the notepad for keeping things organized and my mind clear. The two aroma items both smell grounding, comforting and just like fall. Though I almost would have preferred not to receive two sort-of similar items in the same box, they are both useful and different enough that I’ll enjoy them both. Overall, another fun and beautiful Essentials Crate this month!
