April Box Details

April’s theme is The Clean Home Box! Everything included is aimed at making your house cleaning routine green. This is obviously a great theme since everyone has spaces that need cleaning and laundry to do. I love that this box is filled with a variety of tools to help you in all cleaning areas.

Here’s a look at what’s in this month’s greenUP Box ($81.73 total value):

TruEarth Laundry Detergent Strips ($19.90)

“Each eco-strip packs ultra-concentrated, hypoallergenic, eco-friendly cleaning power into a tiny, pre-measured strip of detergent that you just toss in the wash. Dissolves completely in hot or cold water. Works in all washing machines: HE front loads or top loads. Helps keep 700,000,000 plastic jugs out of landfills per year.”

I love this laundry detergent concept. It’s awesome how small the packaging imprint is and that it includes no plastic. I haven’t tried these before and am so curious how their cleaning power compares to traditional detergents. These would be super convenient for traveling.

Meliora Laundry Stain Stick ($4.99)

“Simple and it works so well! So effective it is known to save toddler laundry and get mildew out of shower curtains. Simply wet the fabric and rub the soap stick onto the stained area, then wash as usual. 100% Plastic-Free, dye-free, preservative-free, palm-oil free, cruelty-free, and fragrance-free.”

Always good to have stain removers on hand! This one is so convenient to use you could actually bring it with you on the go for immediate stain fighting. Otherwise, it’s easy to use at home by just wetting and rubbing on to stains. I like how compact and plastic-free this product is – very eco-friendly!

H&J Sisal and Wood Scrub Brush (12.95)

“Plastic handles and plastic bristles? No thanks! Instead use this wood and natural sisal bristle scrub brush. Great for showers, counters, floors, and anywhere that needs a little scrub. Bristles are made of sisal plant fibers, 100% natural and biodegradable. Check your local compost for the size of wood they accept.”

I was actually just thinking about how I needed an item like this and then it showed up in this month’s box – so perfect! The previous scrub brush I have is at the end of it’s days so this will make a great and plastic-free alternative. It’s bristles seem sturdy and up for a good cleaning job. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of this one.

Full Circle Refillable Glass Spray Bottle ($11.99)

“Made from glass, bamboo, silicone, and recycled plastic. Whether you’re making a DIY cleaning solution or using concentrated tablets, this bottle puts an end to single use plastic bottles! Wide neck for easy filling. Silicone boot protects the bottle. Spray pumps are currently only made from plastic, this one is from recycled plastic!”

What a lovely spray bottle that’s made with such eco-friendly materials. It’s made with less waste and helps you reduce waste by being re-usable. So cool! The cleaning tabs below will be perfect to pair with this bottle for all general cleaning needs. A bonus is that this would look so nice sitting out, no need to put away under the sink if you don’t want to!

H&J Multi-Purpose Cleaning Tablets ($16.95)

“Each tablet makes up to 24 oz of cleaner. Fill your new glass bottle with water, drop in the tablet, get cleaning, and give yourself gratitude for diverting more plastic from the landfill! Non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty free. All ingredients are on the EPA Safer Chemical Ingredients List and none are on the EWG Unacceptable List and Prop 65 Banned Ingredients List. Aloe scented.”

I have yet to try a cleaning product like this so I’m really excited to find one in this month’s box. It’s awesome how much waste this type of product saves as there would otherwise be 5 plastic bottles tossed away, but instead there are just 5 little packets holding the tabs. This sounds so easy to use and is perfect for using with the bottle above. I can’t wait to test out the cleaning power.

H&J Natural Air Purifying Bag ($14.95)

“Linen + activated charcoal makes for a beautiful plastic swap! Fragrance free and natural, this small bag will absorb odors and toxins in the air. Place in the sun for 1-3 hours to activate the charcoal and then use in a small room, closet, or car. Charcoal needs to be reactivated regularly, place outside in the sun for 3 hours every month.”

I always like to have a few of these on hand, they are so useful! They are perfect for closets and places that tend to accumulate humidity. I appreciate how easy these are to use and how long they last. I was feeling like I needed another one of these so it’s perfect that one showed up this month!

greenUP Box Review April 2021 – Final Thoughts

I love the general cleaning theme of this month’s greenUP Box! It’s so versatile and relatable to any subscriber. I mean, this box in general does a good job of being relatable, but this month is especially spot on. I like that even though I’ve tried many green cleaning products, that nearly all of the products included were new to me or were ones I’ve loved before. The collection is perfect and almost makes me excited to go clean some things! But really, it will be fun to try out these new products and see how they compare to what I’ve used before. I really, really like this subscription box and cannot wait to see what the next one has in store!
