October Box Details ($199 total value)

“This month’s box contents come from Kahina Giving Beauty, a conscious beauty brand that offers innovative and proven-effective skin care solutions, taking inspiration from Morocco to combine ancient traditions with modern science. Native Moroccan ingredients are combined with high quality natural ingredients carefully sourced from around the world and formulated in a state-of-the-art facility in the US. The end result: a truly effective and ethical line of luxury skin and body care products that bridges tradition and modernity.”

Here’s a look at what’s in the box:

KAHINA GIVING BEAUTY Eye Serum ($78)

“A non-irritating and easily absorbed eye treatment utilizing active botanicals to address fine lines and wrinkles, puffiness, and dark circles. Rich in peptides and antioxidants, Kahina Eye Serum penetrates easily to: Increase lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness, Increase microcirculation to minimize dark circles, Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and Restore collagen and improve elasticity.”

I really like trying out new eye serums so this is a welcome product to find in this month’s collection. I love that it says it helps to increase lymphatic drainage, something I don’t often see mentioned on eye products, but is certainly important in reducing puffiness and fluid build up. It rubs into skin so nicely and leaves it feeling soft and soothed. I’m so intrigued to see if the product lives up to its claims and brings some relief to my often tired eyes.

KAHINA GIVING BEAUTY Oil Cleanser ($59)

“Dissolve makeup, sunscreen and oils with this nourishing oil-based cleanser that leaves skin clean and soft without residue. Super hydrating, antioxidant rich plant oils combine with healing and anti-inflammatory Calendula, Turmeric and Blue Tansy to calm and detoxify skin. Luxuriate in the scent of a blend of all natural neroli and geranium essential oils. Key ingredients: Calendula: Stimulates healing through antiseptic and antimicrobial action, Turmeric: anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory to combat acne and reduce redness, Blue Tansy: Reduces redness and irritation, soothes and calms, John’s Wort: Rich in flavonoids, helps heal and repair damaged skin. This unique Oil Cleanser is water soluble and can be removed with just water.  No washcloth required. Ideal for dry, sensitive and acne prone skin.”

I’ve never been much into oil cleansing, but have always been so curious to try it out. I’ve always hesitated as my current cleanser seems to be working well, but this oil cleanser makes me want to try it out for sure now. The ingredient benefits sound fantastic for my finicky skin and they sound gentle enough for most anyones skin really. Also, the aroma of it is just so soothing. I really love anything that has neroli in it for it’s warm floral notes and the geranium complements it with an energetic earthiness. I will for sure be giving oil cleansing a try with this product very soon.

KAHINA GIVING BEAUTY Antioxidant Mask ($62)

“Scented with invigorating eucalyptus and mint, this multitasking facial mask is an essential component to any weekly skin care treatment regimen. Argan oil and silica-rich rhassoul clay from the Atlas mountains in Morocco combine with extracts of pomegranate and acai to: Detoxify by drawing out impurities at the deepest level, replacing them with nourishing trace minerals, Stimulate collagen production and improve skin strength and elasticity, Deliver potent antioxidants to fight free-radical damage and reduce signs of aging, Gently exfoliate while leaving skin more toned, smooth and supple.”

It’s my favorite when masks are included in skincare boxes since they can work so well for many different skin types. Plus, they feel more luxurious and like a true product of self care, so they are a good reminder to fit in a bit more relaxation and me time. I like that the benefits mention that it’s gentle, but thorough in it’s detoxifying properties and I also like that it mentions replacing minerals for optimal skin health. I like the clean and refreshing scent of this one and like that it’s a premixed, ready-to-use mask – no mixing required. I think I’ll put this one in my plans for tonight’s bedtime routine!

Laurel & Reed Review October 2022 – Final Thoughts

I have long eyed both this brand and the Laurel & Reed box, having not tried either until just now! This is my first time reviewing the box and I’m so excited that this was the brand I was surprised with. I didn’t know a lot of the backstory of the brand, I was just familiar with how lovely and effective their products were through recommendations. I really like that they ethically source their argan oil from Morocco from women who harvest it and are paid fairly which aids them in financial and social freedom. I love discovering and trying brands that are not only good for me, but also the planet and the people producing them. Aside from such a fantastic brand is featured, I’m very impressed with this box. I like that they just include a small sampling of products since it’s a monthly delivery. That way it’s not overwhelming to receive too many things at once. I also really like the beautiful packaging and presentation. I’m so excited to try these products out and also am so curious what might come next!
