Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review April 2020

Look Fantastic Beauty Box is a UK subscription box that delivers six premium beauty and skin care products for £15.00 or about $26 CAD/month. April’s ‘Spring’ box features “brightening skincare, rejuvenating bodycare and colourful cosmetics — all things to help you feel radiant and beautiful.”

*They kindly sent us this box for review.

Lookfantastic the company is Europe’s top online premium beauty retailer. They carry over 22,000 products and ship to more than 200 countries.

There are four subscription options for the Look Fantastic Beauty Box (all prices in CAD):

  • Month-to-month, $25.70/box
  • 3-month subscription, $24.84/box
  • 6-month subscription, $23.56/box
  • 12-month subscription, $22.27/box

Shipping to Canada starts at about $7/box. Shipping in the UK is free.

Each Look Fantastic Beauty Box includes a mini magazine with details on that month’s products, interviews with beauty insiders and primers on popular ingredients and/or makeup techniques, along with a peek at one of the products in the next month’s box. I really liked the ‘no makeup’ makeup tips in April’s magazine, particularly the nod to my go-to mascara, They’re Real! by Benefit Cosmetics. (“Opt for a brown mascara instead of black — brown mascara is softer, more natural, but will still ensure your eyes stand out.”)

Bellapierre Peach Blossom Eyeshadow Palette

“With three shimmers and one matte shade inside, this palette — exclusively launching in this month’s Beauty Box — is the perfect springtime edition to your makeup bag. Weightless, super-blendable and the perfect size for travelling, with a handy mirror inside. ($50.82)”

This is such a pretty palette. I love the two softer shades in the middle in particular and the way the shimmer catches the light. Those two will be used up long before the others.

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion

“Specially formulated to treat Keratosis Pilaris (the dry, bumpy skin often found on the back of your arms), this rich moisturizer uses lactic acid to get rid of dead skin cells and reveal renewed, soft, healthy skin. Dermatologist approved. ($7.01)”

I get that dry, bumpy skin from time to time but I’ve been using this lotion religiously and my arms are buttery soft.

Minetan Coffee Scrub

“Give yourself a full caffeine kick from head to toe with this exfoliating body scrub! Made from freshly ground coffee as well as an array of natural ingredients, this scrub will remove dry, flaky skin to leave you feeling fresh, soft and with a more even skin tone. ($14.02)”

I used this coffee scrub again this morning and it’s the bomb! Smells amazing and makes your skin feel so smooth and moisturized. The coffee granules make a bit of a mess in the tub so you’ll be an extra minute or two rinsing them off.

Starskin 100% Camellia 2-Step Oil Sheet Mask

“Get your glow back with this facial sheet mask — a dual-part treatment that effectively targets dry, dull skin to soothe and restore your natural radiance. Pure Camellia Seed Oil nourishes and softens skin, whilst the Niacinimde, Mulberry Bark Extract and Peony Root infused sheet mask replenishes moisture and brings a healthy, luminous complexion. ($15.78)”

My skin’s more sensitive/combination than dry and I’m always worried face oils are going to make me break out so I gifted this one to a friend. May it restore her natural radiance.

Vintage Cosmetics Company Tweezers

“These high-quality stainless-steel tweezers allow for precise and effortless brow maintenance. ($14.02)”

More tweezers! I just got a pink pair in another box that I really like so I might end up gifting these or maybe I’ll tuck them away in case the others get lost.

Erno Lazlo Hydraphel Skin Supplement

“This calming toner is perfect for dry and sensitive skin, formulated to hydrate and repair your complexion after cleansing. With a blend of active humectants, it boosts cell renewal to encourage soft and supple skin. ($9.78)”

I can’t tell if this toner is making a difference or not. I’ve been using it and my skin does feel clean and soft so maybe? I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful. Do you have a toner you swear by?

April’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box is valued at $111.43, with nearly half of that from the eyeshadow palette alone. The mask was a pass and I’m undecided on the toner but I’m still pleased with this box overall. It’s a nice mix of cosmetics and skincare available at a variety of price points and every item I’ve ever received has arrived in perfect, brand-new condition with no leaks or spills or excess packaging. Looks fantastic, too. Meet me back here in a few weeks for a review of May’s box!
