Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review December 2019

I just did that fun thing where you write an entire post only to discover it never saved and have to start from scratch. Good times. December’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box arrived earlier than it usually does so I’m happy to have it here for you today. If it’s new to you, it’s a monthly subscription box from the UK that delivers six premium beauty and skin care products and a copy of ELLE UK for £15.00 or about $22 CAD/month. Shipping is free.

Lookfantastic the company is Europe’s top online premium beauty retailer. They carry over 22,000 products and offer free shipping to more than 200 countries.

There are four subscription options for Look Fantastic Beauty Box (all prices in CAD):

  • Month-to-month, $22/box
  • 3-month subscription, $21.28/box
  • 6-month subscription, $20.18/box
  • 12-month subscription, $19.08/box

Each Look Fantastic Beauty Box usually includes a discount or two. December’s was a rebate on a dog food subscription box service. We don’t have a pooch but I looked into it and apparently it only ships in Sweden where the company is located. It’s strange that Lookfantastic didn’t include a discount UK and/or international subscribers could use but it’s not a big deal.

Most beauty boxes include a one-page guide to the contents but Look Fantastic Beauty Box has a 20-page booklet that’s like a mini magazine. I can’t say I read it cover to cover but I do always learn something. December’s issue announced that all monthly beauty boxes will be recyclable and sustainably made from January 2020 on. I didn’t realize you couldn’t recycle the boxes — I usually hold onto mine to store a variety of little things.

SLEEK I-Divine Palette (Au Natural)

“Discover a collection of 12 shades, suited for every skin tone, to highlight, intensify and accentuate the eyes. ($15.77)”

The Au Natural palette is one of three you could get in the December box. I like neutral colours so this one is a keeper. It complements the other SLEEK palette I use all the time, Sun is Shining.

Eylure Texture 117 Lashes

“Fall in love with this pair of textured strip lashes with a lightweight finish — perfect for day or night. Giving you an extra bit of length and thickness, these Eylure lashes are ideal for any upcoming Christmas parties. Designed to be reusable, these lashes apply with ease for a fluttery finish. ($8.88)”

It’s been years since I tried false eyelashes (and then only a couple of times, I was rubbish at putting them on) but I’m willing to give it another go. Maybe I’ll Youtube it first. I need all the tips. These ones look so pretty!

Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer

“Infused with feather-light oils, this invisible oil primer is a lightweight, pre-styling mist, formulated for dry, coarse or brittle hair. Protecting against breakage, heat styling and UV damage, keep your hair in top condition this winter with this nourishing primer. ($8.77)”

I never use a primer but I should. My hair isn’t getting any thicker so I should protect the hair I’ve got!

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel

“Get party prepped skin by refining the complexion. An exfoliating face peel that expertly removes dead skin to reveal a soft and renewed complexion. ($34.88)”

This peel came in a recent box and it’s lovely. It’s a really gentle scrub and my skin feels so soft after.

EYEKO Black Magic Liner

“Designed for after-hours allure; meet our darkest liquid eyeliner yet. Make winged liner effortless wtih this smooth, fluid single stroke colour that lasts all night. ($15.79)”

I’ve got a couple of eyeliners from EYEKO but this one is new to me. The tip makes it easy to draw fine, even lines and it washes off with water, which I like. I can’t tell that it’s any darker than the regular black but that’s fine. Black is classic.

PRAI Platinum Firm & Lift Creme

“Rediscover youthful-looking skin with a re-defining facial moisturiser infused with firming platinum. Rich in antioxidants, this anti-ageing moisturiser intensely hydrates skin whilst defending against free radicals. Skin looks smoother, younger and with a fresher, firmer appearance. ($15.79)”

If you’ve been reading my reviews for a while, 1) thank you; and 2) you know I shy away from moisturizer because I’m afraid it’s going to make me break out. I know I should get over it, but if you’ve finally got clear skin after struggling with acne most of your life you’ll know what I mean. I’ve tried a few moisturizers and always had issues after. I’ll be gifting this one.

And that’s the lot of it! December’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box is valued at $99.88. I’ve said it several times (twice already today ha ha) but I think it’s a great place to start if you want to try a beauty box. The products are top notch and generally a good size, making for a really good return on a relatively small investment.

What do you think of December’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box? What products stand out for you?
