Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review March 2020

Look Fantastic Beauty Box is a UK subscription box that delivers six premium beauty and skin care products for £15.00 or about $26 CAD/month. The March box aims to help subscribers feel empowered, inspired and confident, particularly in light of International Women’s Day celebrated earlier in the month.

*They kindly sent us this box for review.

Lookfantastic the company is Europe’s top online premium beauty retailer. They carry over 22,000 products and offer free shipping to more than 200 countries.

There are four subscription options for Look Fantastic Beauty Box (all prices in CAD; prices increased slightly for new subscribers in December):

  • Month-to-month, $25.70/box
  • 3-month subscription, $24.84/box
  • 6-month subscription, $23.56/box
  • 12-month subscription, $22.27/box

Each Look Fantastic Beauty Box includes a mini magazine with details on that month’s products, interviews with beauty insiders and primers on popular ingredients and/or makeup techniques, along with a peek at one of the products in the next month’s box. This month’s issue was a good mix of style and substance. I liked the women’s history timeline and the mini profiles of women leading some of the world’s top beauty brands.

Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda Shower Oil

“Indian Rose and Sweet Almond Oil are at the base of this shower oil, which will leave your skin feeling soft and your mind at ease. ($8.53)”

This oil has a luxurious lather and made my skin feel silky soft but the scent is overpowering and not my jam.

Rodial Bee Venom Cleansing Balm

“Take your facial cleansing routine to the next level with this luxurious skin-brightening cleansing balm, formulated with Bee Venom — an anti-ageing wonder ingredient that smooths your complexion, plumps fine lines and decongests your skin or any dirt and impurities. ($22.62)”

A gentle cleanser that feels wonderful lightly massaged into the skin. Really love this one.

Hairburst Healthy Hair Vitamins

“Start your journey to healthy, luscious locks with these hair care vitamins, which combat effects of heat styling, colouring and ageing. Taken regularly, research shows that 98% of users noticed faster hair growth. ($21.73)”

I’ve never taken any vitamins or supplements for my hair, mainly because I don’t believe they’d actually work. These would have to make a huge difference for me to purchase them regularly at $20+ for a two-week supply (what subscribers received this month). Do you take anything for your hair?

Madara Time Miracle Wrinkle Resist Eye Cream

“This eye cream targets signs of tiredness and ageing as well as tackling fine lines and wrinkles. Its smoothing formula hydrates the eye area to reveal younger, more radiant-looking skin. ($60.86)”

I’ve been using this eye cream sparingly and can’t say I notice a difference but it’s early days yet. I’m hoping it’ll lighten my dark circles.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Kiss Proof Nude Lip Crème

“Accentuate your pout with the Bellápierre Cosmetics Kiss Proof Nude Lip Crème; a long-wearing liquid lipstick with a matte finish. Featuring a slanted wand applicator, the creamy formula glides on effortlessly to saturate lips in full coverage, non-sticky colour. Lips are smooth, sumptuous and kissable. ($34.78)”

This product’s not in this month’s guide but I know other subscribers found it in this box as well so it must be a bonus, rather than a happy accident. I have a few lippies in a similar colour so I’m going to save this one for a friend.

Grow Gorgeous Repair Strengthening Hair & Scalp Mask

“Get visibly thicker and more nourished hair with this unique mask Grow Gorgeous. Formulated with caffeine to stimulate your roots, oat lipids to lock in moisture and hyaluronic acids for that silky soft finish. ($6.52)”

This mask is the best-smelling product I’ve ever received in a beauty box. It reminds me of locally made soap called ’80s Revival, that one sweet and warm with raspberries and vanilla. Ahhhh so good! I don’t know if you’re supposed to follow it with conditioner but it made my hair feel sticky so I ran a bit through my strands. My hair was soft after, but not any more than usual.

Elizabeth Arden SUPERSTART Skin Renewal Booster

“Designed to restore your skin’s natural ability to repair and renew, this skin booster is the perfect addition to your skincare routine. Its fusion of super ingredients have resulted in over 90% of women agreeing that it helped their skin look less damaged and tired. ($13.04)”

This feels like a serum but you put it on before your serum or moisturizer so I don’t know what that makes it exactly. I guess booster works. It’s supposed to make your other skincare more effective and your skin radiant. I haven’t been using it long enough to see a difference but time will tell. Gets great reviews.

The March Look Fantastic Beauty Box was hit and miss for me with just two real stand-outs, a dead miss and a couple wait-and-sees. Definitely not one of the better boxes but still well worth the price, especially with a $35 bonus lippie. The March Box is valued $168.08.
