Look Fantastic Beauty Box Review September 2020

Look Fantastic Beauty Box is a UK subscription box that delivers six premium beauty and skin care products for £15.00 or about $26 CAD/month. September’s box celebrates six years with a special Birthday Edition.*

*They kindly sent us this box for review.

There are four subscription options for the Look Fantastic Beauty Box (all prices in CAD; there’s also a Canadian Lookfantastic website):

  • Month-to-month, $26.30/box
  • 3-month subscription, $26.30/box
  • 6-month subscription, $26.30/box
  • 12-month subscription, $26.30/box

Canadian subscribers pay approximately $12 shipping for the first box and subsequent boxes ship free.

Lookfantastic had temporarily swapped its product guide with a welcome card but the original guide is back this month. It’s like a mini magazine with information on each products and tips on how to use them, interviews with stand-outs in the beauty industry and a primer on a popular skincare ingredient (for this month it’s ginseng).

Brushworks Jade Roller

“To really take your skincare regimen to the next level, this Brushworks facial roller is exactly what you need. Working to alleviate puffiness and tension in the face, this tool is great for massaging your favourite serums, moisturizers and face masks into the skin. ($17.17)”

I have a couple of these so I’ll probably gift this one, but they do feel great and help reduce puffiness if you’re willing to take the time to use them (about five minutes a day). Feels even better if you keep it in the fridge. (Ahhhh, so cool on the skin.)

ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mud

“A rich hair treatment that works to deeply condition to leave you with silky soft locks. ($8.77)”

I haven’t yet tried this product but it’s easy enough to use — just massage into scalp and through damp hair, leave for 20 minutes and then rinse off.

ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

“This anti-ageing cream uses the maximum concentrate of Padina Pavonica (a powerful marine extract) to completely transform your skin. Its antioxidant properties improve collagen production to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. ($51.59)”

I’m not too too concerned about fine lines and wrinkles on my face yet but I really hope this product will help plump up the deep lines in my neck. Do you use any collagen-boosting products?

Diego dalla Palma Mini Lip Pencil (#80 — Antique Pink)

“This lip pencil has a precise tip to really define the lips and a strong colour payoff. When blended all over the lips the matte finish will last for hours. ($16.02)”

I haven’t been wearing a lot of lip products but I do enjoy a good pencil from time to time, and I love the colour and staying power of this one.

Illamasqua Beyond Powder Highlighter

“Get an enviable glow with this gorgeous highlighter with a champagne hue to compliment your complexion. Perfect for illuminating the high points of your face — cheekbones, brow bones and cupid’s bow. ($17.19)”

This highlighter delivers a beautiful shine — intense when applied with a wet brush and more subtle applied dry. Gorgeous!

LUXIE Large Shader Brush (#209)

“Suitable to use with both cream and powder eyeshadows, this soft, synthetic Luxie eye brush will be a great addition to your beauty toolkit. ($25.79)”

The size of this brush makes it perfect for applying a colour wash across the eyelids with just one swipe. It feels so soft too. Love the pink handle!

September’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box is valued at $136.53. I think it’s a great value for the price, ‘tho it doesn’t really say “birthday” to me apart from the design on the box. Otherwise this box is a dreamy curation of products just right for my skin, hair and beauty needs.
