Lookfantastic Beauty Box Review August 2021

Lookfantastic Beauty Box is a UK subscription box that delivers six premium beauty and skincare products for about $25 CAD/month. August’s box celebrates togetherness now that we can finally be with loved ones again after so long apart.*

*They kindly sent us this box for review

There are four subscription options for the Lookfantastic Beauty Box (all prices in CAD; I’m quoting the prices from the Canadian Lookfantastic site):

  • Month-to-month, $25/box
  • 3-month subscription, $24/box
  • 6-month subscription, $22.50/box
  • 12-month subscription, $21.50/box

Canadian subscribers pay approximately $12 shipping for the first box and subsequent boxes ship free.

Each Lookfantastic Beauty Box includes a product guide that’s like a mini magazine. August’s edition features information on the contents and how to use them; a primer on turmeric (a natural anti-inflammatory, among other things; tips on how to throw the perfect garden party; and (since you’ll be outdoors), how to tackle oily skin in the heat. It’s well-produced and printed on a quality card stock that makes the box feel high-end.

AHAVA Smoothing Body Lotion Superfood Kale and Turmeric (40ml)

“A hydrating body lotion, infused with superfoods kale and turmeric, to moisturize skin and revive the senses. Its formula protects skin from premature ageing, all whilst smoothing and deeply nourishing.”

A lightweight lotion with a gentle, fresh fragrance. Absorbs quickly, doesn’t feel sticky and zero sheen (for those who don’t like to look like a disco ball).

Ciaté London Glow-To Illuminating Blush (Matchmaker)

“Get a natural flush of colour and an enviable glow with this marble illuminating blusher. With a lightweight finish, it’s ideal for any ‘no-makeup makeup’ looks whilst being buildable for more full coverage.”

Subtle for summer when I’ve already got a bit of colour and yet buildable for the winter when I want to perk up my pasty complexion.

SKIMONO Eye Sheet Mask (15ml)

“A potent eye serum mask, enriched with Liposome Technology to reduce the look of dark circles, fine lines and puffiness. Use for an instantly brighter underage area that feels refreshed and radiant. With collagen, chamomile, cucumber and vitamin C.”

I think this might be my favourite eye mask yet. Performs as promised and lightweight so you can sit up or walk around going about your business for the 10 to 20 minutes you’ve got it on and it’ll stay put.

Filorga Age Purify Intensive Serum (7ml)

“A one-of-a-kind age-purifying serum that tackles both blemishes and wrinkles all at once. With its totally unique Filoraga formula, this serum protects against external aggressors and reduces the appearance of imperfections.”

A one-stop shop for blemishes *and* wrinkles? Filorga is speaking my love language, LOL. I haven’t tried it but I could use a vat, LOL. Shame it’s such a small sample.

Bubble T Rhubarb & Custard Bath Fizzer (100g)

“Take your bath to new heights of relaxation and scent with this super sweet Bubble T bath fizzier. The perfect self-care night addition, leaving you feeling revitalized and restored. Paraben free.”

This large pill-shaped fizzer could do two baths but I used it for one for an uber-luxurious rhubarb-coloured soak. I prefer citrus over sweet for scents but this one wasn’t overly strong and made my skin feel super soft without leaving any residue in the tub.

GLOV Mask Remover

“A polyester fibre cloth specially designed to quickly and effectively remove product residue from the skin’s surface. Its fibres don’t absorb any product, making the cloth easy to clean after use, and aren’t rough on the skin so don’t cause any unnecessary irritation.”

I’m not convinced I *need* a mask remover (would a cloth by any other name be just as sweet?), ‘tho it does feel soft and I like that it’s machine-washable.

August’s Lookfantastic Beauty Box has me feeling so pampered, so refreshed. The body lotion, eye mask and blush are all really lovely and the giant bath fizzer made for a relaxing and restorative soak. I think it might be one of my favourite editions to date!
