Merkaela is a seasonal subscription box that aims to make your self-care & spiritual practice easy to experience. They kindly sent us this box for review.
Each quarter they delivered a beautifully curated collection of their all-natural health and wellness products that are made on-site with ingredients you can pronounce and know. They are made with you in mind and formulated to nourish your body, your mind and your spirit.
Each collection is built on a theme and includes wellness products, thought-provoking content and music — everything you need to be on your way to a holistic approach to a clear mind, body and spirit.
Merkaela is committed to sustainability and craft all of their products responsibly. This means they minimize their carbon footprint by making eco-friendly and recyclable packaging choices for their products and for shipping materials, they ethically source their product ingredients from all over the world and they also donate a percentage of their proceeds to water infrastructure and environmental programs.
Subscription Details
There are several Merkaela subscription options with differing budgets in mind:
Soap Box: $18/quarter Every quarter you will receive a selection of handmade soaps that will support your wholistic lifestyle. All soap bars are made in small batches with organic oils infused with herbal botanicals and essential oils.
Essentials Box & Essentials Vegan Box: $35/quarter or $128/annually The Essentials Box contains 3-5 items and supports your meditation practice.
Deluxe Box & Deluxe Vegan Box: $65/quarter or $240/annually The Deluxe Box contains 6-9 items and includes products for both your self-care rituals and meditation practice.
Shipping is not included and is an additional charge. Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska is an additional $10 and to Canada is and additional $20 to cover the extra shipping costs. Current quarterly subscriptions ship in March, June, September & December. New subscribers will be shipped the current box (if it’s not sold out) with in a week of subscribing.

Such a wonderful and thoughtful theme and collection this month! Getting in the flow is such a treat when it happens. It inspires and brings about so much more creativity and self discovery, thereby increasing happiness and satisfaction too. It’s a great tool to work on enhancing as we go into the cold winter months so this box came at the perfect time!
Here’s a look at what’s in the fall quarter’s Merkaela box:
Box Insert
I always appreciate how simple, yet informational the Merkaela box insert is. It comes inside an envelope to keep it all together. It includes an “In the Box” card which has a welcome note and an inspiring quote, plus information, benefits, value and uses for all the products. Included in the envelope is also a card with a QR code to access the meditation playlist. Lastly it includes an affirmation card which is the perfect size to hang in a visible place or put in your wallet to bring with you to reference. It says: “I wake up happy and excited every single day. I crave new, healthy experiences. I find new opportunities to be kind and caring everywhere look. I easily accomplish all of my goals.”
Lemongrass Meditation Elixir ($18.50)
“Step into a blissful calming state as you cut through the mental clutter and improve your concentration. The fresh sharp lemongrass aroma energizes positive feelings and clears through any emotional fog, freeing you to explore pure meditative states. Best used with your affirmation during meditation practice.”
Lemongrass is such an uplifting yet soothing scent to me. It’s an herbal-y citrus aroma that’s just so appealing making it perfect for an elixir and aura mist. I think they chose the perfect scent for inspiring minds to get into the flow and what better way that filling your atmosphere with an inspiring aroma. It’s super easy to use by just spraying into your airspace. I will be keeping this in my office to help me with getting in to the writing, designing and creating flow.
Cranberry Soap Bar ($9.50)
“The cheerful citrusy aroma makes any day feel brighter. The cranberry seeds inside the soap act as a mild toner, and gentle exfoliator. It tightens and reduces excess oils on the surface of the skin. Handmade from natural oils and herbal extracts to provide the perfect nourishment that restores the skin.”
I love handmade soaps and love that they’ve always included one in the box. This one is really pretty with the cranberry seed flecks throughout that will help provide a bit of exfoliation too. It doesn’t say what the essential oil blend used is, but it also smells reminiscent of lemongrass with an herbal citrus scent. A shower with this would be a great way to start the day.
Lively Salt Bath ($18)
“Formulated to overcome exhaustion, lack of interest, and depression. The stimulating fresh aroma of this salt bath revitalizes the mind + body, allowing you to shake off the slumber and take on the rest of the day in high spirits. The mineral-rich salts work hard to detoxify the body by naturally realigning the physical and subtle energy. Melts away stress & alleviates aching muscles.”
This truly is lively like the name says! It has a bright and crisp aroma that’s sure to awaken the senses. Like the products above, it’s also made with a lemongrass essential oil blend. I’m not sure what else it includes but it almost smells like peppermint? Whatever it is smells like it would be perfect for a morning bath. I don’t usually think about taking a bath in the morning, but it doesn’t sound like a bad way to start the day. Plus the salts can help looses muscles that may have gotten stiff overnight. The container of this one is such a pretty glass jar it would also make a great countertop or bath decoration. That makes me not want to use it, but it smells so good I’m going to have to give it a go.
Earl Grey Herbal Tea ($8.50)
“This traditional Earl Grey black tea is infused with bergamot orange flavors. This blend offers a unique floral taste, along with lemon and grapefruit undertones. Aside from the radiant taste, Earl Grey dissolves stress, improves digestion, and provides the body with anti-inflammatory properties from its rich antioxidants. Additional benefits are mental and physical alertness, imparting instant arousal to established tea drinkers.”
This tea is gorgeous with the purple flecks of cornflower petals. It’s smells divine too – a heavy earthy black tea aroma highlighted with a bit of sweet citrus from the bergamot – Yum! I don’t drink any caffeine so I likely won’t try this one, but I’m sure my family members will really enjoy the uniqueness of this black tea too.
Bloodstone Gemstone ($4)
“The bloodstone is known to harmonize the energies of passion, adaptability, & calmness. Use during your meditation to ground, strengthen, and stabilize the body. Useful to help overcome fear and reduce anxiety and irritability from the mental field. Spiritually supports the heart to find the courage to overcome any obstacle.”
This is a stone I don’t actually have in my collection yet so it’s the perfect addition. It’s energies of bringing passion, adaptability and calmness all into harmony couldn’t be more perfect for when you need to find your flow as all three of those are needed in equal capacity. Of course getting into the flow requires leaving fear at the door too which this also assist with. This will be perfect to keep in my office as well, but is also a great stone to carry with you for finding that harmony when your away from home.
Sage Body Oil ($30)
“Formulated to improve skin complexion, tone, and balance. Similar to a Sage stick, the herbaceous aroma of the Sage Body Oil protects the body from negative energy. This combination of oils will further deepen your botanical experience by providing the body with the essential nutrients it craves at the deepest levels.”
This body oil is divine! Not only does it feel luxurious and soothing to my skin but it smells SO good. I want to slather it everywhere! It’s made with a sage essential oil blend so I’m not sure what all is used, but it smells herbal-y with a soft and comforting floral hint too – like a hug from a flowery meadow. It sounds like this can be used on the face and body, a great multipurpose item. Since it says it helps with inflamed skin I might try it on my face first, but like I said I’ll probably end up using it for a fully body experience since it’s so delightful! I’m curious to see if it provides any benefit for my skin.
Sacred Sage Bundle ($7)
“Sacred sage eliminates harmful bacteria from the air. Transmutes negative energy from the Mind, Body, and Spirit. Clears & supports the Feng shui of a space and restores the aura from energetic holes.”
Sage is a wonderful for clearing the air and inspiring harmony making it an obvious and perfect tool to include for this month’s “Flow” theme. It’s great to use at many different times, but especially before working on something that you need to be in a centered state of mind. It’s really pretty easy to use and is great to keep by a meditation alter or somewhere else where you work on introspection.
Merkaela Deluxe Box Review Fall 2020 – Final Thoughts
This is just such a beautiful subscription box! From the themes it brings to the products themselves including their aromas and nourishing benefits – Merkaela has everything needed to inspire healing rituals. Plus, it just looks so beautiful too with it’s minimalist branding and thoughtful packaging. I just love it! This month’s theme is especially great because I (maybe many others too) feel like this year has been so topsy turvy that it’s been hard to find those flow moments. Things are constantly changing and can become a bit overwhelming so I really appreciate the reminder and tools sent along to help bring the flow back. I truly need to get back into the flow and find so much gratitude in this box for everything it includes to help me.
