April Box Details

“We’re excited to welcome Sally Kim, the founder and CEO of We Are Wild to our Behind The Brand series for a comprehensive look into her business journey and what constitutes a modern skincare philosophy.”

I’m really loving these new brand intros that have been accompanying each recent Nourish Beauty Box. It’s been really fun to discover these new products and brands and the additional article that can be found on their blog gives so much more information. It’s in a Q&A form with the founder of the brand and gives information on the company, their mission, their products and extra info on the specific product included in the box. It makes it all the more interesting and exciting to use a product when you know more about it and the person that makes it.

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box ($95 Total Value):

Nourish Naturals Safflower Shimmer In “Vision” ($16)

“Helps to heal chapped lips with its 100% vegan base of rich plant oils, cocoa & shea butters and vitamin e while delivering intense hydration and soft, subtle color.”

My collection of these lippies is growing each month. I don’t remember the last month’s box that one wasn’t included so maybe I’m up to 8 or 10? I’ll have to go count! Over time they’ve sent a nice variety of colors and shimmer levels and this one – “Vision” – doesn’t seem to overlap any that I’ve already received. It’s kind of a coppery rose gold color that has a good amount of shimmer in it. It looks kind of rust colored in the tube, but on skin it’s a bit more sheer and seems like it would enhance the natural lip color nicely. I’ve mentioned this before, but the only thing I don’t really like about these lip glosses is the scent, it’s a sweet berry-like scent that I just don’t think is necessary.

Wyld Flower Labs Sunshine Serum ($35)

“Intensively moisturizing serum made with rosehip, sunflower & cranberry oils as well as cucumber & organic aloe vera hydrosols that can be used throughout the day to ensure skin remains radiant and hydrated.”

A sunshine serum is so timely with the spring season upon us and the sun peeking out more often than it has been! I don’t totally get the name to be honest, I think maybe it’s because it’s a daytime serum? It isn’t meant specifically for sun or sun damage, but it does say it helps repair skin and keep it hydrated so I guess it’s connected. It’s nice and light, absorbs well and leaves skin feeling silky. I was expecting it to smell like citrus because of the name but it smells very much like cucumber. It’s a light aroma that’s crisp and refreshing and doesn’t linger long after application. This would be great under makeup or alone.

We Are Wild Solid Clean Probiotic Cleanser ($24)

“A 3-in-1 facial cleanser that glides on as a balm, which turns into a cleansing oil and finally into a micro-foam texture for a complete cleansing system that dissolves and removes everything without stripping your skin dry.”

This is the highlighted product I mentioned at the top and it’s so unique. After reading the blog post on it, I learned the idea behind this product is so that the use is convenient on the go, perfect for people who are active. The company says they aim to break barriers in the beauty industry and create products that enable you to live a full life without worrying too much about what you look like. This is the first stick cleanser I’ve tried and it’s meant to be an all-in-one cleanser so it takes all make up off by swiping the balm on skin, rubbing as it turns to an oil and then adding water for a micro foam as you wash everything away. It includes probiotics to nourish and balance skin’s microbiome too which is cool. It has a light, kind of powder-y scent and is in a twist up tube (kind of like lip balm). At first I wasn’t overly keen on the plastic tube it comes in, but I read that they have a recycling program which is awesome. They pay for the cost of shipping and you get 25% off your next purchase. I’m really intrigued by this product and look forward to trying it out!

Lēnus No. 60 Regenerating Face Scrub ($20)

“A complex formulation of organic oils, bamboo exfoliant, coconut powder and fine sugar granules enriched with a wonderful cocktail of nourishing plant & vegetable extracts and new-age skin exfoliant.”

I love facial scrubs and this one sounds amazing! It’s an oil based scrub so on top of removing dead skin cells and debris, it will moisturize and protect the exfoliated skin too. The oils include moringa, camelia and grapeseed which are soothing and have anti-aging properties too. It smells so nice and herbal-y and soothing. It contains a handful of essential oils that contribute to the scent like frankincense, eucalyptus, lavender, cypress and geranium. The exfoliating granules look very fine and like they’d be gentle to skin. I like to exfoliate a couple of times of week to manage cell turnover so I’ll be adding this one into my rotation very soon!

Nourish Beauty Box Review April 2020 – Final Thoughts

Such a fun collection in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box! I am loving the introduction to multiple new brands in each box lately. In the past they’ve often only included one new brand so it’s extra fun when two new brands show up. I’ve actually tried a Lēnus product before, but not this one and I’d never heard of We Are Wild before so both are great surprises. As usual, I like the care they take in making sure the products don’t overlap and that they really could be used all together in a skincare routine if you wanted to. This month the cleanser, exfoliant and serum sound like they’d all be great for balancing, hydrating and getting skin glowing and ready for only needing a simple swipe of the lipgloss to complete your routine. Love it!
