December Box Details (Total Value $124.95)

The December Nourish Beauty Box theme is all about keeping your skin and hair feeling fresh and hydrated through the busy holiday season and the cold temps that come with it.

Keep your skin & hair hydrated and supple during the festive season as well with our selection of vegan and natural products tailored especially for you.

Self care can easily take a back seat during the holiday season when the focus is all around presents, baking, gathering and to-do lists. And while all of that is fun and exciting, dry skin and hair are definitely not. So the products in this month’s box couldn’t be better timed. They’ve included a few quick remedies to help combat any problems so you can be on your merry way to celebrating the night away in no time.

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box:

Seraphine Botanicals Rose Butter ($24)

Formulated with raw shea butter, this multifunctional lip & cheek cream will add a subtle tint to your complexion.

This product is a multi-use lip and cheek stain that helps to add a quick pop of color while helping to keep skin hydrated. The shea butter is ultra-moisturizing and should help keep your skin or lips from drying out while using. The color is called rose and is kind of a deep coral color that leans a bit red but isn’t overbearing when applied. Light application with a blend into cheeks makes the color much lighter. This is a similar item to what was sent a few months back but is in a different color. I normally would rather have a different item than a semi-repeat but I actually like the color of this item even better than the one that was sent previously and would be more likely to use this one anyway so I’m glad to have received it.

Seraphine Botanicals Dandelion + Skin Tinted Primer ($25)

A silicon-free primer that has the ability to provide a lightweight sheer coverage upon blending and also, it possesses skin care properties due to it’s high contents of plant oil and botanical extracts.

This product is a tinted facial primer that can be worn alone or under make-up. It applies like a lotion and even comes out looking white like a lotion but has little beads that burst upon application to give a lightweight and sheer color coverage. The color is pretty light so would be best suited for those with light to light/medium skintones. As a note, it does have a very subtle hint of shimmer that if you’re not opposed, will help add a bit of dew to your complexion. It’s made with Dandelion and Gotu Kola extracts which help with skin elasticity and bentonite clay which helps tighten pores and reduce their appearance. It’s unscented, silicone free, and free from parabens, phthalates and mineral oils.

Peony Cosmetics Silk Elixir ($19.95)

An amazing leave-in hair conditioner designed to achieve silky, shiny & healthy hair. Infused with coconut, jojoba, argan & sunflower oils, plus vegetable-derived vitamin E to provide the ultimate care for your tresses with a few spritzes.

My hair is rather fine so I have to use a leave-in conditioner after washing or my hair is a tangly mess so I’m really excited to try this product out to see how it compares to my usual. It’s made with several nourishing oils like coconut and jojoba that will help hydrate and tame hair. It smells really good, like a citrus vanilla or something similar. It does have orange peel oil in the ingredient list so perhaps that adds to the scent. It’s easy to use, you just have to spray directly onto damp hair and comb through, then style as usual.

Troos Skincare + Apothecary Fine Botanical Facial Oil ($46)

A luxurious facial oil combining high quality ingredients such as french lavender, jojoba and rosehip oils to create a daily nourishment for the delicate facial skin.

I love that this facial oil is made with simple, 100% plant-based ingredients. It’s literally only grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, rosehip oil and french lavender. The ingredients are single-origin and ethically sourced to ensure they are of highest quality. It is a great oil for every day use if you’re looking for hydration and conditioning for your skin or if your skin feels dull and needs brightening. It’s lightweight and absorbs easily into skin and only has a hint of scent from the lavender which I really like.

Nourish Beauty Box Review December 2018 – Final Thoughts

I like that the items in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box almost feel like a complete regimen. From a base facial oil that can be used both day and night to a makeup duo that only needs mascara (in my opinion) to complete the look and then a hair product that smoothes and tames hair, there isn’t much else you’d need. I’m especially intrigued by the facial oil and look forward to seeing what results I have after consistent use but like I mentioned above the leave-in conditioner will be fun to try also. I love that all the items included are simple and ultra-hydrating. The cold temps and dry air won’t stand in my way this winter!
