December Box Details

“We had the pleasure of speaking with Connie Lo, one of the co-founders of Niu Body, and amazing natural skincare line, focused on high concentrations of effective, 100% plant-derived ingredients that are backed by science. Here’s what she had to say about her new brand, the adversities they faced starting up and how it came to fruition: Read on Blog.”

I’d never heard of Niu Body before so it’s fun to discover a new brand in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box. I like how there is an in depth profile on the business on their blog so subscribers can learn a bit more about them. It’s a nice addition this month that I haven’t seen called out before. Aside from that the contents of this month’s box are great for winter skin and holiday parties- both which are fast approaching!

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box ($115 Total Value):

Nourish Naturals Cocoa Glaze in “Guru” ($16)

“A beautiful tinted lip glaze that helps to heal chapped lips with its nourishing base of sunflower seed oil, jojoba seed oil, safflower seed oil, cocoa butter and shea butter.”

This is a caramel colored lip glaze. It has no shimmer, but does have a medium amount of gloss to it. It likely would be moisturizing to the lips based on the oils in the ingredient list. I don’t like the color of this one at all and I’m not a fan of the scent (added fragrance) that it has so I will not be using this one. It’s fun to gather a collection of these but I usually get a gloss in every month’s box so it would be fun to receive something else instead next time.

Seraphine Botanicals Blueberry Kale + Nectar ($54)

“Harnesses the power of 16 potent fruit & seed oils to work immediately to nourish and brighten your skin. We love the fact that it’s further powered by camu camu, sea buckthorn, guarana & acerola extracts!”

There are a ton (16 to be exact!) of nourishing oils in this face serum. In addition to the ones listed above there is also avocado, apricot, grape seed, jojoba, pomegranate, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry, prickly pear and abyssinian kale. It’s like a fruit salad oil! It sadly doesn’t smell like fruit salad but I like the scent regardless. It smells earthy and warm. The serum is said to hydrate skin, increase luminosity and radiance, regenerate cells, improve elasticity and fight pigmentation. I’m intrigued to try this one out!

Peony Cosmetics Wonder Bloom In “Golden Vervain” ($15)

“A vegan, high-impact dual eyeshadow in beautiful shades of gilded bronze and dusky rose. The rich, creamy pigments allow it to be used both dry & wet without creasing or fading.”

This eyeshadow duo is so pretty! I immediately thought of holiday party eyes when I saw it. It’s warm, golden and shimmery and perfect for a bright smoky look. The pigment is creamy like they say and applies with great coverage. The plum and gold tones would look great on brown eyes, although would work for anyone. They both have a really nice iridescent/metallic look when applied to skin. I know I said I didn’t like the lipgloss above, but this duo does coordinate with it nicely since it’s warm and golden-y.

Niu Body Glow Luminizing Facial Serum ($30)

“Made with organic jojoba & camellia seed oils and is both lightweight and potent. The high content of oleic & linoleic acid leaves skin rejuvenated, hydrated and glowing without blocking your pores!”

This facial serum is formulated to give skin a glow. It’s a simple, all-natural blend of camellia seed oil, jojoba oil, bergamot essential oil and vitamin E. It smells really nice and light, almost like citrus vanilla. It absorbs into skin really well and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. My skin gets lackluster in the winter so I could definitely use this one and will be trying it out soon.

Nourish Beauty Box Review December 2019 – Final Thoughts

This month’s Nourish Beauty Box was a pretty good one but there were a few downsides for me. I’m not a fan of the lipgloss, like I mentioned. Also, I actually really like both facial serums that were included but it would have been nice not to receive two serums in one box. It’s a bit repetitive for me, especially since they both intend to make skin glow. I do like the eyeshadow and look forward to creating a party look with that one. I don’t wear make-up as often these days so it will be fun to experiment. Overall, an ok box with a fun eyeshadow and a new brand introduction that intrigues me.
