Super Chewer Review: April 2024

Subscription Details

Monthly boxes include two tough toys that are made in the USA and two full-sized bags of all-natural treats. Boxes are always based around a unique theme, holding a new surprise with each delivery.

Each toy is designed by Bark and tested to stand up to the toughest chewers. Toys are made with strong rubber and nylon. 

Treats are customizable for allergy and dietary preferences.  You’ll fill out a short questionnaire before joining which gathers information about the size of your dog, and any dietary restrictions or allergies that he or she may have.

Let’s have a closer look at the April 2024 Super Chewer box…

As I mentioned before, the themes are always on point! Super Chewer carries the theme through every box with their custom box inserts that really bring it to life.  

The Barking at Bigfoot theme was a total hit – who knew your dog wasn’t “barking at nothing” – he’s been barking at Bigfoot all along! 

Underneath all the goodies, the box insert continues down the box with educational material for pet owners.  I think this is a cool perk to the Super Chewer box.  This month, they’re teaching how to introduce your dog to strangers with five helpful tips.  

Normally boxes come with two toys and two treats, but this box is double stuffed – which means we’ve got twice as many toys and treats.

The Toys

Betty Bigfoot: I can’t even stand how cute this thing is!  It’s covered in a Sherpa covering (which my dog is going to LOVE shredding to pieces) but because it’s a two-layer toy, determined dogs like Rudy are rewarded with a second toy inside! Once the tough but tearable fabric is ripped off, they’ll get a rubber spikey squeaky ball. 

Debbie Yeti: She’s hilarious and is the perfect tug and play toy option! It’s made of natural rubber and has two nylon straps for tossing, tugging, and thrashing. Unbelievably, it’s scented ice cream using non-allergenic oils. I definitely caught the sweet scent

Puppy Dog Ness Monster: The names of these toys are so great! This is made with a nylon core and a rubber overmold. It’s covered in unique chew points for extra grab and grip and has a wacky wobble for serious play. This one is a dog mom’s dream because it’s dishwasher safe! Yes, please. 

Frank the Fresno Nightcrawler: It’s a treat dispenser! We love those around here for extra stimulation. Add treats or kibble inside for more rewarding playtime. This one is made of natural rubber and thank goodness, is also dishwasher safe! Fun bonus: it glows in the dark!!\  We tested it, and it really does.  

Chucky Chupacabra: Another glow in the dark toy! This is the perfect squeaky ball for fetch. Made of natural rubber it’s got lots of bumpy detail for a wacky bounce. Made of natural rubber and of course BPA free.  

The Treats

The flavors of these treats are super unique and are definitely going to keep things interesting!  I always wonder if Rudy gets bored with the same food and treats all the time – I love how Super Chewer really mixes it up.

Porky Soft Bakes: These are soft baked treats made with USA pork and naturally sweetened with molasses and apples. This is a 4 oz bag made in the USA. 

Baa Baa Biscuits: Now we’re getting fancy! These soft baked biscuits are made with grass fed lamb and real cheddar cheese.  My goodness, what a treat. Rudy LOVES these and thinks he’s died and gone to doggy heaven whenever I pull them out. 

Wakey Wakey Soft Bakes: It’s like breakfast in a bag, these soft baked treats are made with real USA bacon and wholesome grains such as whole wheat and barley. Have you ever met a dog who doesn’t love bacon?  This was obviously a win.  

Jack-o-Loops: We’re really expanding Rudy’s palette with this one – cinnamon pumpkin soft bakes. Oh ma gourd they’re good! This is an example of a vegetarian option if your furry pal can’t have meat.  

Bonus Treat – Fresno Night Crumbler: A matching cookie to go with our Fresno Nightcrawler toy! How funny.  

Final Thoughts

The overall quality of the toys in the Super Chewer box is always impressive. They’re clearly designed for dogs who take playtime chewing seriously. For dog owners who are constantly having to replace destroyed toys, I think it’s a great value. Plus, the surprise and variety of toys and treats keep both pup and owner delighted.  

We loved the Barking at Bigfoot box, especially the Betty Bigfoot and Jack-o-Loops treats.  I really appreciate that the treats are made with high quality, natural ingredients so I can trust that I’m giving him a good option when it’s time for a reward.  

The toys provide hours of entertainment and are great to rotate through. Super Chewer is a fantastic option for any dog owner who’s ever battled the never-ending plush destruction cycle – and that’s a win in my book!
