The Crafter’s Box is a subscription service that aims to deliver a joyful crafting experience right to your doorstep by providing all the materials, tools, and expert instruction you need to complete each month’s project. This subscription is perfect for those looking to explore new crafts, learn new artistic styles, or expand their personal creative boundaries. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Subscription Details

Each The Crafter’s Box is thoughtfully curated in collaboration with the featured artist or maker. Subscribers will receive high end materials and tools needed to complete the project, as well as access to the accompanying digital workshop and live/recorded Q&A chat led by the featured maker. Crafter’s Box also hosts a marketplace where you can purchase past workshop kits, premium workshops, digital classes, and tools and supplies.

Subscriptions cost $65 per month with cost savings for those opting for longer term subscriptions. Boxes ship for a flat rate of $6.50 within the United States, $20 to Canada, and $30 internationally. The Crafter’s Box is unique in that it offers subscribers the option to skip or swap out a box if the upcoming box theme is not of interest. Love this kind of flexibility in a subscription!

Paper Marbling

“Let’s get creative with colour and pattern! Paper marbling is a delightfully fluid way to design, utilizing paint floating on the surface of thickened water. Natalie Stopka guides us through the fundamentals of this craft. We’ll prepare the marbling tray, mix paints, and explore techniques for manipulating our designs. After printing, use the included digital templates to turn the gorgeous marbled paper into envelopes, party hats, or party crackers.”

This sounds like such fun! I am really excited to get some one of a kind patterned paper out of this. Suggested uses for your unique creations include as envelopes, greeting cards, bookmarks, or notecards. I will be creating various dashboards for my planner that will match whatever theme I have going at the moment.

Let’s take a closer look at everything included in this kit:

Project Card

Each The Crafter’s Box contains a folded card describing the project and introducing the maker. It also lists all the materials inside the box, and any additional materials to have at home if needed. For this project, common household objects such as a tablespoon, paper towels, whisk, and drying rack are needed.

Heavyweight Paper

This kit includes twelve sheets of heavyweight paper.

Acrylic Paint

This kit contains one ounce each of acrylic paint in red, blue, and yellow. These three primary colours are really all that is needed to create any colour you wish.

Mixing Supplies

The mixing supplies provided are carrageenan, aluminum sulfate, and Photo Flo. These will be used to create the optimal water surface tension and viscosity needed throughout the painting process.

Crafting Tools

Tools included in this kit include a marbling tray, foam brush, and plastic pipettes.

The kit contains a large one quart mixing container and four smaller mixing jars with lids to help you mix up any paint colour you can dream up.

They even included nitrile gloves, newsprint sheets, and clear plastic drop cloths to protect your hands and work surface.

I absolutely can’t wait to get started playing with this kit. I love all things paper and stationery, and am so excited to be able to create some unique pieces of my own. While it sounds really complicated and difficult, the video tutorials provided are really straightforward and easy to understand, and do an amazing job of guiding you through the whole process. Having all the tools and materials needed to follow along with the tutorial makes it so much more enjoyable and stress free. Highly recommend The Crafter’s Box if you want to try out or learn different crafts.
