“Let’s get creative with colour and pattern! Paper marbling is a delightfully fluid way to design, utilizing paint floating on the surface of thickened water. Natalie Stopka guides us through the fundamentals of this craft. We’ll prepare the marbling tray, mix paints, and explore techniques for manipulating our designs. After printing, use the included digital templates to turn the gorgeous marbled paper into envelopes, party hats, or party crackers.”
This sounds like such fun! I am really excited to get some one of a kind patterned paper out of this. Suggested uses for your unique creations include as envelopes, greeting cards, bookmarks, or notecards. I will be creating various dashboards for my planner that will match whatever theme I have going at the moment.
Let’s take a closer look at everything included in this kit:
Each The Crafter’s Box contains a folded card describing the project and introducing the maker. It also lists all the materials inside the box, and any additional materials to have at home if needed. For this project, common household objects such as a tablespoon, paper towels, whisk, and drying rack are needed.
This kit includes twelve sheets of heavyweight paper.
This kit contains one ounce each of acrylic paint in red, blue, and yellow. These three primary colours are really all that is needed to create any colour you wish.
The mixing supplies provided are carrageenan, aluminum sulfate, and Photo Flo. These will be used to create the optimal water surface tension and viscosity needed throughout the painting process.
Tools included in this kit include a marbling tray, foam brush, and plastic pipettes.
The kit contains a large one quart mixing container and four smaller mixing jars with lids to help you mix up any paint colour you can dream up.
They even included nitrile gloves, newsprint sheets, and clear plastic drop cloths to protect your hands and work surface.
The Crafter’s Box Review July 2022 – Final Thoughts
I absolutely can’t wait to get started playing with this kit. I love all things paper and stationery, and am so excited to be able to create some unique pieces of my own. While it sounds really complicated and difficult, the video tutorials provided are really straightforward and easy to understand, and do an amazing job of guiding you through the whole process. Having all the tools and materials needed to follow along with the tutorial makes it so much more enjoyable and stress free.
