Paper Star Lanterns

“Create elegant hanging star lanterns as you become entranced with the soothing and cathartic craft of paper cutting. Paper artist Zahra Ammar shares how to make 3-dimensional paper stars in three different designs and sizes. These graceful pieces bring a touch of celestial beauty to any space.”

Let’s take a closer look at everything included in this kit:

Project Card

Each The Crafter’s Box contains a folded card describing the project and introducing the maker. It also lists all the materials inside the box, and any additional materials to have at home if needed.

Cardstock in Stella (Gold)

This kit includes enough cardstock to make three paper star lanterns of varying sizes. I love the gold colour chosen here, and how thick and sturdy the cardstock is.

Craft Knife and Cutting Mat

A craft knife and self-healing cutting mat is included with the kit. This knife is perfect for making precise cuts and the mat is the ideal work surface for this project.

Embroidery Floss, Vellum Paper, Black Tracing Paper

The other items included in this kit are four sheets of vellum paper, two sheets of black carbon tracking paper, and a skein of gold embroidery floss. The vellum sheets are added to the finished star to create a soft diffused look for any fairy lights. Use the tracing paper to transfer the patterns and the floss to hang your finished product.

E6000 Glue

A tube of E6000 glue is used to glue everything together. I have used this glue in the past, and it is amazing! It does release fumes though, so do take care when using it.

Pencil and Plastic Ruler

The kit even includes a pencil and plastic ruler! Love the attention to detail.

Pattern Templates

Finally, we have pattern templates for each of the stars. Just trace, transfer, and cut!

Final Thoughts

Compared to previous Crafter’s Boxes, I am not so excited for this one as others only because I do not really have a practical use for the finished product. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to learning some new paper crafting skill through making these stars. Everything is included in the kit for convenience, and the instructional videos are super helpful. I think this will still be a fun afternoon of crafting for me. Perhaps I will gift the finished product if they turn out well! Highly recommend The Crafter’s Box to any crafting enthusiast out there.
