April Box Details

“April Snack Box: The Best Snacks on the Planet are the Best Snacks FOR the Planet! For April’s Snack Box, I invite you to join us in celebrating the planet all month-long! I hand-picked each brand based on their commitment to making the world a better place, from Veggie Sticks in compostable packaging to sustainably-harvested coconut chips from Thailand, organic & fair-trade certified chocolate and so much more. We’ve even thrown in a special eco-friendly bonus keepsake for you to enjoy on your sustainability journey with us. Happy Earth Day!”

Here’s a look at what’s in the April Vegancuts Snack Box:

LesserEvil Himalayan Pink Salt Veggie Sticks

“LesserEvil packages their sustainable snacks in NEO plastics that can be discarded
responsibly, creating renewable energy for the planet.”

I’ve generally stayed away from veggie stick snacks in the past as they have ingredients like certain oils I prefer to avoid, but these are made only with organic olive oil and veggies. The cleanest, simplest version I’ve ever seen! I will definitely be trying these out and will likely share them with my toddler too. I’m sure she’ll love them.

Savory Wild Hot & Spicy Cajun Style Portabella Jerky

“Savory Wild’s mushrooms are grown from compostable material, and the soil is recycled for field replenishment and potting soil. Did you know that mushrooms are one of the most eco-friendly foods on the planet?”

I’m not a fan of mushrooms so this doesn’t appeal to me, though I am a little curious what it tastes like. I might try this if I get brave. I do appreciate their sustainability commitments and find it interesting that mushrooms are one of the most eco-friendly foods – I had no idea!

RW Garcia Organic Bar-B-Q Corn Chips

“RW Garcia has made many eco-friendly commitments, recycling all their unprocessed, non-GMO corn and maintaining zero-waste on all ingredients.”

I’m sure these are really tasty, I mean most BBQ chips are. I don’t often eat chips any more, but these could be a nice treat.

Dang Foods Sriracha Spice Thai Rice Chips and Lightly Salted Coconut Chips

“Dang, a certified B Corp, sources their coconuts from sustainable family farms in Thailand, where every part of the plant is used, and uphold rigorous standards of environmental action & transparency.”

I’ve loved all the Dang Foods products I’ve tried so I’m sure both of these are delicious. I actually think I’ve tried this flavor of rice chips before and they were so good so I’m glad to get another little snack pack. Both of these are great for quick snacking needs.

Humming Hemp Spicy Hemp Hearts

“Humming Hemp products come from 15 regenerative farms, who rotate their crops to prevent soil depletion. Because hemp is naturally disease and insect-resistant, farmers can avoid pesticides.”

Hemp seeds are so great! I often have them on my oatmeal, but these sound like they’d be perfect for a salad topper to provide extra flavor and protein.

Chasin Dreams Cocoa Popped Sorghum OR Cinnamon Popped Sorghum

“Sorghum is an ancient grain that uses only half the water that most crops need, and because of sorghum’s eco-efficiency, Chasin Dreams is able to produce delicious earth friendly snacks.”

Yum! Out of the two flavor options I received the Cocoa flavor which I’m excited about since I love chocolate, though both sound good. I don’t know what to expect for the flavor of popped sorghum as I’ve not had it before, but I’m sure it’s tasty and a fun quick snack.

Fullgreen Buffalo Ranch Riced Ideas

“Fullgreen uses ‘ugly’ veggies and surplus produce that usually get thrown away to help combat food waste. They also plant 200 trees per month as a reforestation partner of One Tree Planted.”

This flavor sounds so tasty and is not a usual flavor you can find from other products. This would make a great summer side dish.

Numi Organics White Rose Tea and Matcha Toasted Rice Tea

“Not only is Numi Tea Climate Neutral-Certified and members of The Climate Collaborative,
their tea also comes in plant-based & compostable wrappers.”

I actually received Rooibos Chai and Matcha Toasted Rice for the two tea flavors on this one. I really enjoy tea and they both sound delicious. I unfortunately don’t drink caffeine, so I’m not likely to try the Matcha out, but I do like chai! I appreciate their ingredient and packaging choices though, so I’ll check out their other herbal flavors too.

Theo Chocolate Peanut Butter & Jelly Cups

“Theo sources Organic & Fair Trade Certified Cocoa, like what goes into these delicious 55%
Chocolate PB & J Cups, to ensure that their products benefit farmers & the environment.”

Peanut butter and jelly is one of my top favorite flavor combos, and then paired with chocolate?? These are totally made for me. I cannot wait to dig in and try them. I love these are organic so I can feel good about eating an indulgent treat too.

BONUS! Reusable Stainless Steel Straw

“Easy-to-clean and environmentally-friendly alternative to plastic straws that wreak havoc on our ocean and animal habitats. Keep in your car and say “no thanks” to plastic straws at the drive-thru.”

I love this bonus item! Not only is is super useful and a pretty color, but I love that it’s not a food item but still repeated to snacking. They don’t often include non-food items so this is fun.

Vegancuts Snack Box Review April 2021 – Final Thoughts

What an awesome Vegancuts Snack Box this month! I’m partial to anything that’s earth-loving so I appreciate that all the brands included this month are committed to sustainability in some way. I really like that each product description on the insert card shared why each product was chosen and the ways in which they are eco-friendly. I loved seeing a few familiar brands, some totally new to me products and of course the chocolate! It was also so fun to find the bonus straw was since it’s always just snacks included. It was a great surprise. Since it’s Earth Month this month all these eco-conscious snacks will be extra fun to try out! Can’t wait to dig in!
