August Box Details

“This Snack Box theme is Summer Salty Sweets & Heats: Crunchy, chewy, delicious snacks
from all across the flavor spectrum! Welcome to August! This month’s box is packed full of deliciousness: From granola to cookies to a giant bag of Sriracha puffs, there’s something here for everyone. And even though “back to school” may not be in-person for all of us, we’ve kept the kids (and kids-at-heart) in mind with Nut-Butter-Bites and fruity snacks that are sure to satisfy in-between meal cravings or afternoon pick-me-ups. We’ve even included a Birthday Cake Bar as a treat for those celebrating, or for any-time enjoyment. Here’s a hug from the Vegancuts team – we are still in this together!

Also, this month’s box supports Daryl and friends at Mountain View Sanctuary in Walsenburg, CO.”

Here’s a look at what’s in the August Vegancuts Snack Box:

Ka-Pop – Red & Green Sriracha Puffs

“Perfect heat with a touch of sweet!”

Wow, this is the largest snack bag I’ve received so far in this box. A great value and they look fun to try. I don’t always love the sriracha flavor, but I’ll try most anything once. I like that these are made with ancient grains and are corn free. It will be interesting to compare the texture of these to traditional puff snacks.

Frooze Balls – Nut Butter Bites: PBJ or Chocolate Hazelnut

“A proteiny treat with a nut-buttery center.”

Of the two options I received the PBJ version. Peanut butter and jelly is one of my all time favorite flavor combos so this is right up my alley. These little balls are made with super simple ingredients like dates, coconut, peanuts and fruit puree. They’d make a great snack or a nice grain free replacement for when you’re craving a pb&j sandwich.

Raw Rev – Birthday Cake Bar

“Chewy, airy superfood bar with actual sprinkles!”

It’s fun whenever birthday cake flavored items are in this box. I love cake, but am doing a low sugar deal right now, so this could be a nice replacement in the meantime to get that flavor, but without all that other stuff. Plus, a bonus is that there is 13g of protein from plant sources per bar.

Bakery on Main – Extreme Fruit & Nut Granola

“Enjoy with plant-based yogurt or like a breakfast cereal!”

This granola sounds really tasty. It’s made with lots of seeds, nuts and dried fruits so I bet it has a great crunch and flavor profile. I don’t actually see a ton of fruits and nuts through the little window on the package, but it could just be shifted around. Regardless, this would be great on some yogurt or topped on fresh fruit.

GoGo squeeZ – Amazing Apple GoGo BIG Squeez

“Enjoy Chilled: Fun afternoon snack for you or the kids!”

These pouches are so convenient for taking on-the-go. My daughter loves them, but so do I! Apple is of course a staple flavor so I’m sure this tastes delicious. I like how this is a bigger pouch, almost made more for adults.

Homefree – Gingersnap Cookies

“Crunchy little cookies with a ginger zing!”

I don’t usually love ginger cookies, but mostly because I just really like other cookie flavors better. I’m sure these are tasty and they feel like they’d have a nice crunch, so I’ll likely give them a try anyway.

Route 11 – Sea Salt Potato Chips

“Small-batch chips with a perfect kettle-cooked crunch.”

Potato chips are definitely one of my weaknesses and kettle chips are hands-down the best. I’m sure these are delicious and crispy and would pair wonderfully with some dip alongside a sandwich for lunch.

Hungry Buddha – Coconut Cocoa Keto Bar

“So much coconut and chocolate flavor for something so low-carb!”

Chocolate coconut is such a good flavor combo so this bar sounds tasty. It would make a great snack or even a good breakfast on the go. Some protein bars can be too dense or lack texture, but from the outside of the package this one feels like it might be lighter with a hint of crunch (the ingredients list pea protein crisps, so likely).

Raw Rev – Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar

“Tastes like real cookie dough without the sugar crash.”

I also love love love cookie dough, but have been avoiding it for a bit just like cake so this is another fun flavored item to receive. This bar doesn’t have quite as much protein packed in, but is still a good amount at 10g per bar. This would make a nice sweet treat replacement when you get a craving.

GoGo squeeZ – Spunky Strawberry GoGo BIG Squeez

“Enjoy Chilled: Sweet, refreshing strawberry treat!”

It’s fun to get two flavors of these ultra convenient pouches in this month’s box. I love strawberry flavored anything so this one has got to be good. I’m sure my daughter will love it too!

Bonus! Go Big Energy – Blood Orange Ginger Shot

“Tart, Blood-Orangey pick-me up!”

This is an interesting alternative to traditional energy beverages and anything made with caffeine. It’s made with guarana extract which is an herb known to increase energy. The flavor of this sounds zingy and uplifting too. It would be a good thing to take in the morning to jump start the day, or after lunch to avoid the afternoon slump without needing caffeine.

Vegancuts Snack Box Review August 2020 – Final Thoughts

What a fun mix of items in this month’s Vegancuts Snack Box! Before I looked at the theme for the month, I almost thought it had a back to school vibe since many of the snacks could be kid-friendly and good for packing in lunches. Of course the school year is a bit strange this year, but the snacks would still be fun for kids to try. Although, they’re totally adult friendly too! As usual I appreciate the variety of items and the mix of sweet and salty goods. The chosen items certainly fit this month’s actual theme since they span that range of flavors so well. Looking forward to see what next month’s Vegancuts Snack Box theme brings!
