October Box Details

“This Snack Box theme is Sweet & Salty Snacking: Crunchtastic Favorites. It’s officially October! The fall season calls for warm flavors and cozy comforts, which is why we’re bringing you the best snacks and pantry-stuffers to make your Autumn one to celebrate: Chocolate Covered Pumpkin Seeds and Kimchi Noodle Soup will get you in the spirit! We’ve also thrown in Italian Snacking Beans for the more adventurous types (they’re deliciously pickled!). As we continue to stay safe and seek some at-home solitude, we’re still working hard at Vegancuts to bring the best tastes and discoveries to your doorstep. Happy Fall Y’all!”

Here’s a look at what’s in the October Vegancuts Snack Box:

Super Seedz Gourmet Pumpkin Seeds (Dark Chocolate Sea Salt)

“Premium European pumpkin seeds with a smooth dark chocolate taste and a light & salty crunch.”

These sound so tasty! A sweet treat with healthy benefits. I think these would be great on their own, but also really good on a bowl of oatmeal or maybe topping some roasted cherries on vanilla coconut yogurt.

Riceworks Gourmet Rice Snack (Sea Salt)

“Crunchy rice & sesame seed chips perfect for a vegan dip.”

These sound like a great replacement or sub for chips when the craving arrises, especially tortilla chips. I imagine they’d go great with some salsa. Unfortunately, I can’t try these ones out as I had a box mishap (see my final thoughts at the bottom for the full story!).

BRAMI Sea Salt & Vinegar Italian Snacking Lupini Beans

“Deliciously craveable, lightly pickled legume snack.”

These sound intriguing and like a good protein packed little snack. I love salt and vinegar flavored things so I’m sure the flavor is great. I’ve never had lupini beans in this form so these will be fun to try.

Lil Bucks Sprouted Buckwheat Crunch (Original, Cacao or Matcha Flavor)

“Meet your favorite new superfood – sprinkle on top of smoothie bowls or use just like granola.”

I’ve always wanted to try these, mostly because they are unique and something I haven’t tried before, but also because it’s a company local here to Chicago and I love trying and supporting small businesses nearby. Out of the three flavors, I received the Cacao flavor which I’m really excited about – that one sounds the best of the three to me! I’ll probably use this as a topping replacement for granola, but I’m sure it’s good on it’s own too.

Hint Watermelon Water

“Pure filtered water with a delicious watermelon flavor.”

I’ve had these waters before and they are nice, light and refreshing. They’re a great sub for when plain water is just not cutting it and you want something more flavorful. I don’t always like watermelon flavored things so I haven’t tried this exact flavor, but it definitely sounds refreshing so I’ll try it.

Sunwarrior Collagen Building Protein Peptides (Chocolate Fudge Flavor)

“Delicious chocolate shake that will take your skin to a whole new level.”

The description says that the Chocolate Fudge flavor was sent, I actually received the Tahitian Vanilla flavor which equally sounds delicious. I’ve been working on including collagen in my diet and this sounds like a tasty and easy way to get it in. I actually got this item in my Vegancuts Beauty Box too, but it seems like a fun item to try so I don’t mind the duplicate.

Bakeology Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites

“Classic chocolate chip cookies with just the right amount of sweetness and crunch.”

A tasty, gluten free treat made with pretty simple and natural ingredients. These would be great for dessert. I actually already dug into these and they were really good!

Nongshim Soon Kimchi Noodle Soup

“Flavorful noodles and plenty of veggies with a kimchi kick.”

This soup would definitely make for a quick lunch when you’re short on time. It doesn’t sound like a flavor I’d really like so I’m not sure I’ll be trying this one.

Foods Alive Nutritional Yeast Flakes

“Every vegan’s favorite condiment: Sprinkle on any food to give it a nice cheesy taste.”

I know this makes a great alternative to a cheese flavor, but I’ve actually never tried it so it sounds interesting to test it out. I’ve generally seen it mixed in to recipes, but I suppose it would be good sprinkled on top too. Unfortunately this item was another sacrificed to the box mishap (see below for the story!).

Blake’s Seed Based S’mores Snack Bar

“Layered with flavors of toasted marshmallow, sweet graham cracker and smooth chocolate.”

Yum! S’mores are a favorite treat here, especially in the fall, so I imaging this bar is a delicious alternative with a reminiscent flavor. This would be a good snack, but also with it’s sweet flavor, a good healthier dessert option.

Vegancuts Snack Box Review October 2020 – Final Thoughts

This was another fun box from Vegancuts! They really do always seek out interesting products to try, many are new to me, and that’s what makes this box fun and worth the subscription. I like that many of the items are more simply made with natural ingredients and fun flavors. I had a mishap with this month’s box where I didn’t grab my box off the front porch in time and a confident and hungry squirrel tried breaking into the box to steal some of my snacks. That unfortunately meant I had to sacrifice a few to the garbage right away (after disinfecting and a quick photo), but thankfully most were spared. I get it though, the squirrel was probably just trying to stock up for winter too and knew that Vegancuts helps do just that!
