July Box Details

The July Yogi Surprise Lifestyle box theme is “Embrace new adventures”

Celebrate sunshine, nature and new sights! Welcome the spirit of wanderlust and take your practice outdoors with this month’s awesome offerings.

Summer is by far my favorite time of year, specifically because of the feeling of being outside. I love soaking up all the vitamin D (safely of course) and filling my lungs with fresh air. I just feel happier and more inspired during the summer too. I tend to try more new things and seek out new things to do. This month’s Yogi Box (along with the beautiful weather we’ve been having here in Chicago) will help inspire me to try new things with my yoga practices too, maybe even outside!

Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box (total value $105):

Hip Pack by Aloha for Yogi Surprise

Travel light on your adventures with the adjustable ultra-protective Yogi Surprise/Aloha hip pouch made of 100% coated Tyvek to keep your valuables safe from splashes, spills and weather. Perfect for storing your phone, cards and keys.

This hip pouch is the perfect size to carry along anywhere. It’s not bulky, it’s really lightweight and the black color will keep it understated and fashionable. The quality is really nice so it seems like it will hold up for a long time. It’s said that you can store wet items inside or keep items from getting wet too – so perfect for a beach or pool day. I like the idea of pouches because it keeps your items securely on you with less risk of losing them. A cool note about the brand is that 5% of profits go to Hawaii conservation organizations.

African Chai Tea by JusTea

Stay hydrated on hot summer days with this delicious sweet and spicy cold-brew blend! Spiced with a refreshing bouquet of 100% natural cloves, cinnamon, fennel and rose petals. Enjoy this tea on your new adventures! Caffeine level: medium.

So I don’t often drink caffeine but when I make an exception it’s always for chai tea. I just love it so much! And this iced version sounds so refreshing for hot summer days. If it tastes just as good as it smells, then it’s a winner for sure. I like this brand’s mission too as they partner with small-scale farmers in Africa who hand pick the tea from the highest elevations, never using pesticides, to ensure quality.

Yogi Surprise Necklace with Crystal Quartz Pendant

Energize your journey. Amplify your inner “master healer” with this delicate gold colored necklace featuring a stunning quartz crystal pendant to balance and revitalize your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. Create a new necklace simply by switching out the gold colored necklace to the white faux-leather cord. And voila! 2 necklaces in one!

I’m all about balancing (a big reason why I’m into yoga in the first place) so this necklace fits perfectly with my mindset. Not only that but it’s really pretty and is the perfect size for a pendant. It’s not too large or heavy and the length falls nicely at the perfect place. I love that it’s white and neutral so it will match many things too.

Aloe Vera Gel by Badger

Cool and hydrate dry skin with the Aloe Vera gel by Badger, made of certified organic and fair trade aloe vera juice, one of nature’s best natural moisturizers. It’s as close as you can get to breaking a leaf off of an aloe plant! With it’s amazing moisturizing benefits, it delivers that feeling of instant relief we remember from our childhood days at the beach. Unscented and great for all skin types – even sensitive skin. Don’t leave home without it!

If you like spending time out in the sun like me then I’m sure you’re familiar with the soothing and cooling sensation of aloe vera on your skin. I hate getting sunburns and try my best to avoid, but in the instance it happens aloe is my go-to to soothe skin and keep it hydrated in hopes of reducing peeling. I actually think that aloe is a good moisturizer for just generally parched summer skin too, sunburn or not. This one is all natural and the ingredients are 96% organic and fair trade certified. It’s unscented and not colored unnecessarily like some conventional brands so you can feel safe and comfortable applying to your skin.

Nantucket Spider Natural Bug Repellent

Enjoy the great outdoors without the bug bites. Made with citronella and essential oils, this all natural and effective alternative to chemical-based insect repellents contains no harmful chemicals and is DEET-free. It’s the perfect travel companion for all your wanderlust destinations.

I was so happy to find this item in this month’s box because bug spray is always something I forget to buy when I need it! I don’t like to use anything with DEET in it as can be irritating to the skin and the smell can be so strong so I like that this bug repellent is made from just citronella and essential oils. Because of that this one smells great too – a little woodsy and a little minty. It can be applied to clothes, body, hair and gear and isn’t greasy at all.

Yogi Surprise Review July 2018 – Final Thoughts

With summer being halfway over it’s time to start checking some more things off that summer bucket list! The items in this box have me inspired and itching to get outside to soak up the rest of these warm and peaceful days. Maybe a hike with the hip pack, a hammock nap with an iced chai tea, a beach day followed by the aloe vera or a night of dressed up al fresco dining with my new necklace on. Or maybe all of these! I think I can still find room on my bucket list. Needless to say I loved this month’s Yogi Surprise theme and look forward to next month’s box!
